Libya looked like she was about to laugh, and cry, or just run away. For a minute everyone just looked around, unsure of what to say. Then Katy held out her hand, "Nice to meet you, Libya."
Libya, being the polite person that she is, shook Katy's hand, looking a little uneasy, "It's good to meet you too Katy."
"Lib, I'm sorry. I should've told you, but I didn't think you'd believe me." I explained, feeling incredibly guilty.
"It's okay, Harmony. I would've done the same if it were me." She said, smiling weakly.
Katy coughed, "Uh, I hate to interrupt, but is this the reason you came back home, to tell Libya about me?"
"Oh no... Something else happened." I said quietly and Katy sensed that I didn't really want to talk about it in front of Libya, in case I started crying or whatever. For the rest of the day we stayed home with Katy. After lunch (I insisted it wasn't cooked by Katy so we ordered a takeaway) we went on the Wii, which was great fun. We played Wii Sports and Mario Kart. After we'd just finished our sixteenth race of the day, Libya's phone started to ring in her pocket. She pulled it out and answered it.
"Mum, no don't get mad... No, I'm coming home right now." She said, I could hear her mum from the other end, I wasn't sure what she was saying, but I knew she sounded cross. Shit. I thought to myself. Libya turned around, she looked worried. "I have to go now... But thanks for today, Harmony, and it was a pleasure to meet you Ms Perry." She said, turning towards the door, Katy followed her, thanking her for a great day. I heard the door close and Katy came back into the room.
"That poor girl's in deep shit with her parents," she stated.
I sighed, "I know. I have a feeling I'll be in deep shit with you in a minute." I said.
"Huh?" Katy asked, confused, but also looking rather cross.
"At school today, you know that River girl, yeah well she was winding me up and stuff... and then we were in the park and she started hitting me and stuff and we got into a fight, and I won." I said quickly.
"You won? Well done." She smiled.
"You're not angry?"
"Not at all." She said, and embraced me in a huuuge bear hug, which I enjoyed very much.
The next day of course, came very quickly. I could hear Katy snoring in her bedroom while I got dressed and then went downstairs. I decided not to wake her, I'd been doing that a lot lately, and I know how much she likes her beauty sleep. I went and made myself breakfast and checked my facebook. I almost spat out my orange juice! I had loads of messages from Harry, the guy I met in the bush. He must've found out that we moved to London. Oh god. I felt bad.
Harmony???? You moved to england, I can't believe you didn't tell me :(
Most of the messages were like that. I felt a pain in my chest, I really hoped I hadn't made another enemy. I decided to reply, maybe that would ease the guilt.
Harry, I should've told you, I moved ages ago. I didn't want to say anything because I thought you'd be upset.
I kind of felt better, I just hoped he wouldn't be too mad at me. He was offline then so I didn't expect a reply any time soon. I decided to play Temple Run for a bit to pass the time. Walking to school probably wouldn't be so bad, and at least no one else would see me with Katy, and over time people would probably forget anyway. I grabbed my bag and headphones and opened the front door,
"Bye Katy!" I yelled, knowing she wouldn't hear me anyway. I put my headphones in and searched through my music library; I'd gotten a whole load of new songs over the past week, but I couldn't decide what to listen to, so I just pressed Shuffle. One Direction. Great, I thought, maybe this'll make me feel better. It was the song Last First Kiss, I really like that one. I heard their latest song, Best Song Ever and decided I liked it, so I downloaded both of their albums, but I don't really listen much, only when their songs come on on shuffle.
People kept giving me strange looks, I guess they knew I was Katy's daughter. I tried to ignore all of the attention, but it was pretty hard. I kept my head down and walked on. I was pretty good with directions so I found my way pretty easily- I was getting more familiar with the route. The song on my phone finished and I changed it, this time to Nobody Compares. Gosh, I had a lot of One Direction songs. I put my phone back in my pocket and walked to school a little shakily, not sure whether or not I was ready to face River and her friends.
