Nobody understood her struggle
She constantly had boys hit on her
Has friends say so many different things to her
On how to dress
How to act
Some wanted her to act black and some white
But she was fed up
Sometimes she wished to be one solid race
So she wouldn't have to go through all of this
She was mixed but sometimes she thought of her oppressed sisters
The darkskinned girls that got ignored if they weren't pretty or rich
She knew she had an advantage over her sisters
And then she thought about the light girls
Who had everything in their favour, and would never be deemed as bad,
And she knew that was not fair.
