13. Treasure our time

Annabeth’s POV

"Oh gods, I feel like being burned again." Percy’s voice was weak and quiet. He raised his hand to reach for the glass filled with water. But I grabbed the glass and helped him to sit and drink.

"What time is it?" he asked in a worried voice and looked around to find a clock or watch. "It is 12.00, midnight." "And the day?" "It's still today... I mean the next day after you were hit by lightning. Because it is after 24.00 now."

"What are you thinking, Annabeth?" Then I realized that I was frowning. "It’s nothing." he gave me his puppy eyes look then I finally gave up. "I was thinking about the game. It will start today. And don't show me those puppy eyes any more, that won't work." "Well, puppy eyes works effectively on you." he smirked.

"Where are the others?" "Don't you remember? It is midnight, every one are sleeping. You are such a Seaweed Brain."

"If every one are sleeping, why are you staying here?" I can feel myself blushing.

"That, umm, ugh... If you don't want me to stay, I am leaving now." I pretended to be angry with him. I am not telling him that I stayed because I am worried and I want to make sure that he is ok since I love him. Even he is now my boyfriend, I still find it embarrassing to tell him ‘I love you’.

"No, wait!" he pulled me into a hug when I was standing up from the chair next to the bed. "Sorry I didn’t mean that. I don't want you to go." Gods, he really thought that I was mad at him, I felt guilty about that.

"It’s not your fault, I am not mad at all." But he didn't let go. Instead, he pulled me closer.

"Hey, I really am not mad at you." I told him.

"Just stay here. This may be the last time I can hug you."

"No, you can't die without my permission. We will meet after the game." I felt like I am going to cry again. But then I managed to hold my tears back. I can't cry again. I found that I have cried too much after the trip to Tartarus and that scares everyone in my cabin. Because I had never cried in front of them. And I cannot cry in front of Percy now, that would make him feel bad.

And I felt tired and fell asleep in Percy’s arms.

Travis’s POV

"What a scene!" I heard Leo shouting inside the Big House. And I rushed inside and found Leo standing outside the medical room, signaling me to keep quiet and take my camera. I took out my camera which I always carry with me and sneaked into the medical room.

At first I only saw Percy sleeping, Annabeth seemed to be left and I whispered to Leo. "There's nothing strange inside, only Percy sleeping. we've got almost a hundred photoes of that. Let's go."

But he signaled me to stay and mouthed the word Annabeth. Then I understood what happened. I sneaked into the room again and got closer. And found Percy holding Annabeth in his arms. I pulled down the blanket to get a better view and pressed the button.

I took a few more photos and ran out of the Big House with Leo. It was five in the morning and after lunch we have to go and do our missions, try not to die and maybe, win the game. But I think it is impossible for me to win. If I can stay alive, that would be good enough. Since I still have something to ask Katie...

Then someone dragged me into the bushes and covered my mouth. Then I realized that it was Leo. "Can't you notice that the harpy is coming?" Then a figure stood in front of the bush. I stopped breathing and wait until the harpy left.

"Wow, that was close." I said.

"What's wrong with you Travis? You seemed to be distracted." "Nothing, just thinking about some pranks ."

He smirked and said "For the Demeter cabin again?" he knew that I like Katie and I wanted to ask her to go out with me. But she didn't seemed to notice. I pull pranks on the Demeter cabin and wanted to get her attention, but she always hate me more. Once I’ve tried to help them to decorate their cabin for Easter and put a lot of chocolate bunnies on the roof. But she didn't appreciate it at all. No matter what I do, good or bad, she always hate me and walk away when she saw me.

"I think it would be better if you go and ask the Aphrodite kids to help you. I can help you ask Piper if you want."

"No, the whole Aphrodite cabin hates me after Connor and me have stolen all their make up and mirrors. Besides, Piper is a friend of Katie, she will tell Katie about me liking her."

"But if you don't tell her now, your brother will ask her." he pointed to the lake, where I found Connor sitting on a rock hiding a box of chocolate behind his back and Katie was walking towards him in distance! Oh my gods, I haven't told Connor about Katie and he didn't know I like her, and he was going to date her! I must do something.

So I used my power and traveled in the speed of light. In a second I was standing in front of Katie. She was shocked and she gave me a punch right in the middle of my face before I could speak. That didn't hurt much but I can feel my nose bleeding. "Gods! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to punch you, I just thought you were the harpy and I didn't know what to do. Oh, you nose is bleeding." She pointed to my nose and looked like she was about to cry.

"I'm ok and sorry that I scared you. I just... don't want you to meet Connor."

"What are you talking about? I am not seeing Connor, I just want to go to the strawberry fields to take care of the strawberries, since this may be our last day to stay at camp..." She looked sad. And I felt awful too. After today, I may be dead and can never come back to camp again, most importantly, I may never see her again.

I was sure that my face was red as strawberries when she helped to stanch the bleeding of my nose. "Why do you come out this early and try to stop me from meeting Connor?" She stared at me.

"I... I... uh... um... I thought that Connor is going to... Never mind." I was speechless. Unfortunately, my camera fell out of my pocket. Before I can reach it, Katie took it.

"Hey, you sneaked into the medical room and took pictures of Percy and Annabeth?" I tried to stop her before she see her own pictures. (I have taken tons of pictures of her. I know, strange, isn't it?) But she summoned her man-eating flower to block me. Then she blushed, I knew she saw her own pictures. The man-eating flower coiled around my waist like a snake and lifted me up.

"Why are you taking photoes of me?" She looked angry. And the pitcher plant opened its mouth and I can see its sharp teeth. "Do I look that ugly that you want to take pictures to laugh at me?" Her eyes were red and she looked hurt.

"No, it is not what you think. I... I... I think you look great. So I took photoes of you."

"You are lying!" the pitcher plant turned into a seed and Katie turned and ran away.

I used my power again and stopped in front of her."It is not what you think! I really think that you are pretty." I pulled her into a hug and she struggled to escape. But I kept hold of her no matter how she kicked and hit me. Finally she calmed down and stopped.

"Listen, I really think you are the prettiest girl in the world. I just want to ask if... if you can be my girlfriend." She didn't speak anything and I was afraid that she would say ‘no’ or kill me. But after the awkward silence, she hugged me back.

"Does this answered your question?" She asked quietly. And this was the best day of my life.

OMG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WRITE!!! SO I WROTE THIS. HOPE IT IS NOT THAT RUBBISH LIKE I THINK. Anyways, I will try figure out something to write for next chapter. Sorry guys if you think this chapter is bad. I've tried my best. But that's all I can write in a busy day. Although it is the Mid-Autumn Festival, my school still gave me a truck load of homework and projects for holidays.
