Laeci, Madelyn, and Luke come to a small room with a window that faces the front yard. Luke unlatches the window and pulls it back a bit, just enough to eavesdrop, but not enough to be noticeable. All three of them crowd around the window, straining to hear the conversation.

Laeci drones out the first bits of conversation because she's gawking at the people. Each man sat upon a unicorn-yes, a unicorn. Glancing at Madelyn and Luke, Laeci sees they are trembling in fear. She almost asks Madelyn, but the answer hits her before she does. Everything is reversed, so harmless creatures were now harmful. It is a bit funny watching people be afraid of unicorns, though.(If Laeci was not in danger at the moment, she probably would of taken a video, posted it on Vine, and watch it become the next viral video).

Once Laeci gets a grip on herself, she tunes into the conversation.

"-no, house my in living Universe Reverse the from people isn't there," Papa Sam says.

"Sure you're?" The man in front, probably the leader, says.

"Not course of," Papa Sam answers.

"House your searching us mind you would?" Even from Laeci's struggle to understand the language, she can tell the men are going to search the house.

"Hide to nothing there's!" Papa Sam says.

The leader, ignoring whatever Papa Sam just said, yells,"HOUSE THE SEARCH!"

Papa Sam's eyes widen, and as if he knows they're watching, looks up at Laeci, Madelyn, and Luke. Madelyn and Luke react to it immediately, seeming to know the message Papa Sam was trying to convey. They run toward the back of the room, each grabbing a backpack, leaving Laeci no choice but to follow.

At the back of the room is a small door. It only came to Laeci's knees, leaving her wondering how they were going to get through. Madelyn and Luke seem to know what to do, though-Madelyn tickles the door's knob gently.

The door's knob soon grows eyes, a nose, and mouth. "Hiya stranger! How may I make your day as painful as possible?"

Laeci gasps and lets out a scream, soon muffled by Madelyn's hand.

"Upstairs something is? Is it what see!" The leader shouts downstairs.

Panicking, Madelyn says,"Look, Chester, we don't have time! Can you just open up, and we'll be outta here."

"Nuh uh uh," Chester the doorknob says," Who ya talkin' to?"

Sighing and rolling her eyes, Madelyn says," Alright, Chesteren the Great, can you open up?"

Chester must of just then noticed Laeci, and says,"Ahh...who's this newbie?"

"Hi, I'm Laeci, nice to meet you." Laeci would have shaken his hand, but how do you shake hands with a doorknob? And how could she be thinking of manners right then? This was making her question her sanity. (But then again, she has been questioning her sanity for quite some time now).

"Ahh, nice and polite! How cute!" Chester jokes.

"Is he always like this?" Laeci asks.

"Pretty much, Butternut," Chester says in a saccharine voice.

"He gives everyone names. Mine's Muffintop and Luke's is Nugget." Madelyn assures me.

By now, the footsteps are getting louder. "Please, Chester, we need to pass!" Madelyn begs.

"Well, then, Muffintop, answer my riddle! What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs-naw, too cliché. Hmm...oh! I got it! What is black and white and red all over?"

"A newspaper!" Madelyn answers exasperatedly.

"Wrong! An embarrassed penguin! You shall not pass!" Chester seems to be enjoying this.

Laeci has an idea, though it tests her dignity quite a bit. "Oh, Chesteren the Great, we humble humans beg to let through by your, uh, powerful presence so that we may escape these people and live to tell the tale of your, um, awesomeness," Laeci finishes awkwardly. Seriously, what does it take to get past a doorknob with an attitude problem?

This takes Chester by surprise. "Uh, sure, um, okay, you can go," he says, flustered.

The door grows and grows until it's Laeci's height. When the three of them step forward, Chester suddenly says,"On one condition," and grins wickedly.

The footsteps were almost outside the door. "What is it?" Madelyn says, annoyed.

"I will come with you," Chester says and smirks.

"Here in they're!" Someone shouts outside the door.

"Alright, alright, fine," Madelyn says and with a quick motion, yanks the doorknob off the door, stepping through the now opened door.

"Fantastic!" Chester shouts.

There seems to be a very deep hole, taken that Madelyn falls down almost immediately. Luke follows suit. Laeci decides to take one last look, and when she does, the door is knocked down and the leader yells,"THERE YOU! THERE RIGHT STOP!"

This is all it takes for Laeci to jump quickly into the deep, dark hole of uncertainty.
