Chapter 15 - A Pace of Relief Is Ahead

"What? S-So I... Leah, Leah. Tell me is Leah even your real name?" Henley asked me.

He holds his head with both hands. And bow down.

*sigh*

"Henley are you ok?" I asked him.

"I just knew about everything, Leah. What do you expect from me? I just saw werewolves with my own eyes. I was saved by a vampire that I wouldn't even think about. I had an Auntie who's a witch. And I have you. A daughter of the powerful vampire that the werewolves are hunting for." He told me.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't knew this will happened. I didn't mean to hurt you." I said to him.

"No, I think it's my task now to protect you." He said.

"Henley,"

"I'll listen to Aunt Mel if that's what you want." He said.

"Can we go back now?" I asked him.

He faked a smile and held my hand.

We started walking back to Melinda.

"So tell me about yourself. The real you, for once." He said.

"Um, what about it?" I asked him.

"You've tell me that you're a vampire but how can you walk under the Sun without getting burnt?" He asked.

"I have this." I showed him my ring. "It's a Sun Walker ring. It makes me free to feel the warm of the Sun. Melinda gave it to me." I told him.

"Also, I've never seen eat. Like, you enjoying your food."
"It's because I didn't really have to. I need blood instead." I said.

He released my hand when he heard the word 'blood'.

"No, it's animal blood. I don't drink human blood. It's an order." I told him.

"Yeah, I already know about the blood thing. I'm just really... Um, not to offend you, but I think it's disgusting." He told me.

"I understand. But it's my way of living." I said.

We continue walking until we reach to Melinda.

"Henley!" It's George.

We stopped for him in front of the house.

"Man are you ok? Someone have told me that you came back bloody!" George approached him.

"I'm fine." He answered.

"Where did you go, man? I haven't seen you for days." George asked him.

He looked at me like he was asking for what he should say.

"I had a free vacation with the ladies, do you remember them? The two ladies? Oh and I went to a bull fight after the vacation! We slaughtered the bull because it lose the game. So yeah I was bloody when I came back." He lied to George.

"How did you end up in a bull fight? You're not even interested with animals." He said.

"Nah, people changed." He said.

George looked at me. He's not convinced with Henley's story. Me and Henley just enter the house anyways.

"Auntie." Henley went to Melinda as we got in the house. While I went to my room. I want to give them privacy.

"Henley, please give me a chance to explain." Melinda said.

"I'll listen." He said.

"Renée told me to keep this a secret... It's about our own secrets. You've already knew about me. Well, maybe it's also the right time for you to know about mother."
