I stood in a handstand on the floor in the middle of the kitchen, simply just staring at the patterns in the floor.
It's interesting how ice can make so many different, beautiful, patterns.
They're all unique, like snowflakes. No pattern, or snowflake, is the same.
The same thing goes for monsters, except, they have some things in common.
Like, they've all created havoc, they've all caused strain, they've all caused pain.......
They've all caused suffering. The only thing that's different, is the way they create the havoc.
Some do small things, some do big things. The smaller ones are the hardest to see, the one's that are expected to cause the least pain. But it's the exact opposite.
They cause the most.
Losing your hairbrush, not that important to other people, but to you it is.- Not everyone likes their bed head.-
Losing something you all care about,
the whole family cares about it,
the whole tribe cares about it,
is important in all ways.
Size doesn't count in how big the monster is,
Size counts in how big the pain was....
Normal pain is a pinch, take losing your leg as an example. Yes it hurts a lot, but it's not as bad, as losing a loved one.
A loving Cheif.
A friend.
A family member.
The husband of a good friend.
A father...
I don't expect them to forgive me, I don't deserve to be forgiven.
Tears ran down my face and I fell over with my face facing the floor.
The pain was getting to be to much.
I curled up into a ball, my face laying on my leather covered knees.
I want it to be over, but then who would take care of the animals and people who needed help?
I need to stay strong, for them.I heard lots of shuffling and law steps. I wiped my tear covered face, and took my head away from my knees.
The Dragons that lived with me were gathered around me in a circle, with me in the middle.
Their faces were contorted in worried and concerned expressions, with their heads cocked to the side, and their eyes were glazed with pity.
The one that was the closest (besides my Night Fury, Sea Star), a baby Hobblegrunt, nudged my shoulder with his muzzle and licked my cheek. The rest of the Dragons did the same, licking my cheek, snuggling up next to me, trying their best to cheer me up.
Even my Fire Worm Dragon, Amber (wrapped around my neck like a necklace), gave me a kiss and a neck hug."You guys are the best," I said, rubbing each of their noses, which took me awhile, since nearly the whole nest was in here.
The Dragons purred in content, then snuggled back up next to, and on, me."We are a family, you are one of us," said an elder ShiverTooth, named Iceical.
"You do it for us, it's time for us to do the same for you," replied Mint and Chocolate at the same time, they were a Hideous-Zippleback (which I honestly think they should be called Spotterbacks).
"Thank you," I whispered, slowly drifting off to sleep...
