I've been with them for about a week now and everything is going pretty well. Sure, they enjoy teasing me and playing mean jokes on me. But other then that, they're great. Madison and I have become better friends, and she comes over to see me sometimes when she comes to hang with Trevor. I continue to be a taxi driver and babysitter each and every day. Which doesnt really bother me much anymore. I've learned my way around the town pretty easily. Mostly because its pretty small. Which is just how I like it.
"This isn't right." I muttered to myself. I was trying unsuccesfully to help Blake build a swing set for the little ones. But nothing seemedto fit together correctly. He laughed then went back to screwing to pieces together. "Hey, you hungry?"
"Yes!" he shouted looking at with wild eyes. I laughed and headed inside to make us some lunch. It was really hot today, so I deiced on making salads. I got out all of the ingedients that I would need and started fixing mine. Blake oddly liked to put hot sauce on everything, so before I went outside I grabbed the bottle just incase he wanted it.
I was coming out onto the porch when Blake came bolting up. "What the hell!" I yelled at him since he almost knocked me down.
"Sorry! I gotta go, Kacey. Super sorry!" he yelled as he ran towards the garage, falling in the process. I sighed and set the two bowls down. I put Blake's in the fridge then ate mine. As I was finishing, Jacob came into the kitchen.
"What's for lunch?" he asked leaning over the counter.
"Whatever you'd like," I said absent mindly. I looked out into the backyard where swing set pieces were scattered every where. We were never going to finish. I sighed. The boys would be so disappointed.
"What's with all the swing set pieces?" Jacob asked looking out the window.
"Oh. Blake and I were building it for the little ones. But he ran off on me. So now it wont be getting done today."
"Would you mind if I helped you?" he asked slowly.
Jacob and I hadnt really spent anytime together. Maybe this was a good time to get to him better. He seemed nice, but what do I know? He also struck me as a player. Which I assumed was correct. "Uh, sure. I hope you know how to build things better then Blake."
He laughed and bowed his head. "Yeah." We headed outside to where the mess lay. I grabbed the first piece I saw. Jacob took it from my hand.
"No. That comes later. We need this one." he said tossing mine aside and grabbing a bigger one. "We have to build the frame first."
I nodded. "I knew that." he laughed at me. The two of us worked in silence, while me and Blake goofed off and joked. A good twenty mintues had passed when he finally said something to me. "So what's your family like?"
"Uh, well. There's my older sister Rochelle and my younger brother Ethan. Both my parents are always working so we kind of had to fend for ourselves." I said handing him another piece. "They aren't like your parents. Not all loving. Sure they love us, but with my dad being CEO of a company and my mom running around with all her fashion shows, they never had time for us. God, I'm rambling. Sorry."
"It's alright. I understand." he said screwing in the piece.
"That's why when my dad gave me this offer to come here, I couldn't refuse. Things havent been great back home. So I had to just...leave."
"Yeah because our house is real peaceful." he joked.
"Better then the silence of mine. My brother's never home. Sister moved out a long time ago. Parents never home. It was normally just me and my friends."
