Joshua Turner slowly opened the front door to his apartment, the old creaky door sliding inward easily, the knob cold beneath his palm.
Darkness welcomed him as he silently slipped inside, shutting the door behind him. His boots softly thudded against the floor as he ventured deeper into his home. The one bedroom apartment was scarcely furnished, it seemed almost empty and to any human it would feel eery and unwelcoming. The thought caused a small smile to play at his lips. Joshua routinely stepped into the kitchen, his eyes set on the magical frozen box that humans call "refrigerator".
A cold object pressed into the space where his spine rested between his shoulder blades. He grinned, acting as if the gun wasn't there, continuing his reach for the glass bottle inside his magic cold box. His hands made quick work of the aluminium top of the beer bottle, lifting it to his lips as he let the intruder wait their turn.
"Its been awhile, angel. I knew you'd come running back to me sooner or later." the vampire's voice came out smooth, a Scottish accent lacing every syllable. He heard the scoff from the woman behind him, the gun in her hand cocked slowly. The sound used to make him tremble in his boots and sent him running for the hills, but now it was just irritating.
"You know what i want, Turner. Tell me where Iziah is hiding and I'll let you stay in one piece."
"Oh my, what a bargain. Let me think," he sucked in a deep breath, acting as if making a decision, "no. Look, angel, we can fool around all night but in the end you wont know anymore than you know now..Well, except for what a real man feels like." he turned with a smirk and chuckled only in time to hear the short, piercing sound of a silencer on the gun as Jiro fired it into his abdomen. It wouldn't kill him, but it hurt like hell.
The white hot burning sensation traveled through his body, black blood splattered onto the tile floor and he stumbled backwards, his hip hitting the counter. Joshua groaned as the rotten taste filled his mouth, he spit the black substance into the sink beside him."Silver, huh? You dont play fair, angel."
Jiro rolled her eyes as she listened to the vampire whine, he was such a pain. She lowered the gun the crotch of his pants and watched his silver eyes widen, "One last chance, or this time you'll be moping up more than old blood." Vampires were old, most of them anyway. About as old as she , they mostly kept to themselves but they tangled with other creatures of the night. Joshua was the most tame one she'd come across, she usually tortured him for information. He looked like your average human, tall, pale, handsome. He's probably slept with every female of any species within a six mile radius.
"Alright! Alright. The damn demon is hiding out in an underground base near Vegas. Bastard's free loading off an old mage there."
Jiro narrowed her eyes at him slightly, "How do i know you're not telling me bullshit?"
He let out a soft laugh, "I think I learned my lesson on the last time I did."
Jiro had come to him years ago asking the whereabouts of a rampaging demon. He sent her right into a nest of ghouls. In return, Jiro cut off his hands and hid them for a year.
Slowly, she replaced the gun into the holster at her waist, standing infront of him. He visibly relaxed as he looked down at his gushing stomach.
"Address. Now."
