"Xavier!"
"Mother?" His head shot up.
"What're you doing here?" I asked.
"I could ask you the same." He retorted.
Damn. Smart kid. I heard footsteps from above us, panicking I hid myself back in my barrel.
"This conversation isn't finished." I advised him. "Now be quiet, I hear footsteps."
It felt forever until we heard someone coming our way. The footsteps stopped just in front of my barrel. I mentally cursed myself as I held my breath.
"I just have to check that out rations and which barrels are the spares." A male voice said.
The lid then opened to reveal a minotaur who I recognised to be Tavros.
"Your majesty?" He asked as I reluctantly hopped out of the barrel. "What are you doing here?"
"Uh, hello Tavros. I'm here because my husband told me to stay behind, but I could not bare not doing anything." I explained. "I feel something strong that is headed our way and I wished to be with Caspian."
"So his majesty does not know." Tavros added.
"No, he doesn't know."
"Or that I'm here!" Xavier exclaimed, causing me to face palm.
"Your highness, Prince Xavier!" Tavros exclaimed as he opened the lid of the barrel.
"Please don't tell Caspian." I begged him.
"As the first mate of this ship you must understand that I must." Tavros said. "Besides his majesty is bound to find out sooner or later."
That's true. I huffed out a sigh, knowing that I'd been defeated.
"Fine, take us to Caspian." I said.
"As you wish, you majesty."
Tavros then took Xavier and me to Caspian's private chambers. Once we reached his chambers, Tavros turned to me. "Wait here."
He then slipped inside, closing the door behind him. I pressed my ear to the door, eavesdropping on their conversation.
"Your majesty there are two people I think you should know are here." Tavros said.
"And who are these two people?" Caspian asked. "Are they part of the crew?"
"No, they snuck on the ship."
"Bring them in, I'll deal with this personally." Caspian ordered.
Tavros then opened the door and nodded, indicating for us to come in. I took a deep breath and grabbed Xavier's hand before walking in.
Tavros stepped aside, allowing me to see Caspian. Once Caspian saw us his face fell. He's going to be furious, I know it.
"Tavros, leave us."
"Yes, your majesty."
As soon as Tavros left, Xavier ran over to his father, giving him a hug.
"Hello father!" Xavier exclaimed.
Caspian was controlling himself as he hugged Xavier back. Once Xavier pulled away, I beckoned him back at my side.
"What were you thinking, Sabrina?" Caspian asked. "This quest is very dangerous and we both talked about this. You'd be back at the castle, waiting for me to return while watching our children. But instead you forget all of that and even take Xavier with you."
I knew that if it was revealed that Xavier came along by himself that he'd lash out on Xavier. It's better if he takes it all out on me than our son.
"Forgive me, Caspian." I replied. "I couldn't just sit there, waiting for you to return without doing anything. Besides I feel like something bad is coming, something evil."
He sat down on his chair behind his desk. "Fine, your feelings have never been wrong and I trust you. Xavier, go ask Tavros to show you around the ship."
"Brilliant! Thank you father!" Xavier exclaimed.
With that Xavier ran out of the chambers, leaving Caspian and me alone. He gave me a smile as I walked over closer towards him.
"Do you forgive me?" I asked.
"Of course, I love you too much to be angry at you." Caspian replied, pulling me into his lap.
"Aw, love you too Caspian." I said, leaning in to give him a kiss.
Our lips met and the kiss turned into a passionate one. His hands began to roam and he swiftly picked me up and gently laid me down on his giant bed.
"You're so beautiful, my queen." He said in between kisses.
"And you're handsome, my king."
~~~~I woke up to find Caspian missing from the bed. Where did he go? I slipped on my night robe as I slowly got up from the comfortable bed.
"Looking for me, love?"
I turned around to Caspian, sitting at his desk with a map in his hands. Oh he's probably trying to find out where the missing lords are.
"Oh yes, but it looks as though you're busy." I commented.
"Nonsense, I always have time for you." He said as he approached me.
Before we could kiss, the door opened, revealing Xavier who looked very happy.
"Breakfast is ready." He informed us.
"Thank you Xavier, we'll be there at once." Caspian replied.
With that Xavier left the chambers. Caspian pulled me back in, planting a kiss on my lips.
"Caspian, we should get breakfast." I suggested.
"No." He groaned. "Just a few more minutes."
"He's going to come back anyways." I replied.
"Fine, let's go." He said. "But I'm not through with you yet."
"Look forward to it." I said with a giggle. "Now I've got to change."
After I changed into the clothing I was wearing yesterday, we walked out of his chambers and walked hand in hand out to the deck where they were serving breakfast.
