I started the engine and pulled onto the street. Our neighbor, Tracy was outside watering her lawn as always. And the rest of the street didn't have much movement. West valley city, Utah was always a quiet yet dangerous place to live. Seems it always had the worst of people lurking around. It was just another normal day in paradise.
After about 15 minutes of driving. I pulled into the school parking lot and parked my car.
As I got out of my car, Kyle was walking toward me with a big smile on his face. He had dark brown hair and stood just under six feet. He had dark green eyes and always wore a dress shirt and tie but never had it tucked in. He was always cheerful
He threw his arm around my shoulder and laughed.
"So how does it feel to be an adult?" he asked.
"Well, it feels different but at the same time not so much."
We headed for the school and as we walked past a large group girls. Kyle turned to them, pointed at me, and then yelled.
"Any of you ladies looking for a real man; I got you one right here. He's fresh and ready for your attention."
The group of girls started laughing and I gave Kyle a big push and said, " you don't have to be such a jerk about it."
He just laughed and said, "well your an adult now so be proud of it."
We entered the school and opened up our lockers.
Kyle turned to me and said "So are you planning on doing anything after school?"
I thought for a moment. "Well I'm sure my mom has something planned. I don't know I didn't really think much of it."
"Well we have to do something."
"What?"
"I'll think of something," said Kyle.
We shut our lockers and walked to Mr. Roberts eight o'clock math class.
As we entered the class Mr. Roberts greeted us with a smile and a nod.
We both got to our seats and the bell rang. Mr. Roberts got up from his seat and closed the door. I pulled out my notebook and pencil, ready to start writing my notes.
"Today we are gong to talk about limits." Mr. Roberts said as he began to write on the board.
At that moment the class door opened and a girl walked in. As soon as she entered the room I froze.
It was her. The girl from my dream. Except she wasn't wearing any armor. She was wearing what looked to be from some ancient civilization.
She turned and looked right at me. I looked back at her for what felt like hours. She then began walking toward me and she spoke.
"You must leave this place or these people are gong to die."
Her words scared the crap out of me and I stood up from my seat. "What do you mean these people are going to die? How are they going to die?"
"Ryder."
I turned toward Kyle. "What?"
"What are you doing?"
I pointed and turned toward the girl.
But when I turned she was gone. What the heck, I thought to myself. I looked around and the whole class was looking at me like I was out of my mind including the teacher."Is there something wrong Ryder?" said Mr. Roberts.
"He's going crazy." one of the students blurted out.
The whole class filled with laughter and I took my seat.
"I was just..... I'm fine." I said to Mr. Roberts.
"Well if your done interrupting. Let us continue."
He then began to write on the board again. Kyle tapped my arm and I turned to see what he wanted.
"Dude... What the heck was that?" Kyle said.
"I don't know. I'll talk to you after class."
I looked down at my paper and started to think.
I am definitely seeing things. But why am I seeing a girl from my dream. Yet why was she even in my dream.
Nothing made any sense. What did she mean, people are going to die. This is just stupid I thought to myself. I decided to wait till after class to worry about it anymore. Maybe Kyle could help me figure out what the crap is going on.
Class soon was over and I pulled Kyle aside.....
