The first day at school is exciting and kind of scary. There are kids that can't wait to meet their new classmates and hopefully friends, they're curious about what the school is going to look like, classes, halls, lockers, yard,etc. They're excited to start a new experience and they have faith is gonna be fun.

But there are kids, instead, scared of what they're about to get into: new school, new classmates, news teachers, new surroundings, new everything and most of the times it's really hard to get in.

When you get to college things get way more complicated, it's not high school where teachers care about you and look out for you if you need help, you don't have classmates but colleagues, people who attend the same classes you do, and making new friends is not exactly a prerogative. Everyone is expected to be a grown up, an adult, and to act like one, you're alone there and you need to rely only on yourself, you can't trust easily your colleagues, since the main aim is to succed even by using others. When it comes to be the best of the best, nothing can stop you.

Rachel got up pretty early as she usually does when she needs to get ready for a singing rehearsal or a big competition. It was her first day at NYADA and she had to be in perfect shape to make a great impression on the prestigious teachers of the school. This was a moment she had been waiting for a long time and finally she was ready to begin.

She tried not to wake up Finn while she slowly removed the blanket and got out of bed. She would rather stay in bed next to Finn,who was sleeping like a sweet puppy, but she couldn't lose any more minute. She got up and went straight to the mirror and smile widely, her reflection in the mirror looked great, she was so satisfied and she started practising her favorite drama queen faces. She then combed her long beautiful brown hair and went to the kitchen.

She was surprised to see that someone had woken up before her. It was Kurt.

"Kurt what are doing here?" She was frowning and sounded like she was annoyed.

" I live here Rachel, I've been living here for like a month, don't you remember?" Kurt answered wittily.

" It's a big day today and as you may know, I always wake up early on this kind of days. I didn't think someone would wake up even earlier."

" Oh well I'm a morning person too, Rachel. And especially today, as you said it's a big day, I wanted to be ready. But look, since I wake up first, I made breakfast for everyone, bacon and eggs are for Finn and Blaine, for us I made a healthy energizing breakfast because we need all our energy to shine bright. And I even picked your first day outfit, it's a perfect piece of Rachel Berry's sweater, skirt and socks style but with some new touches, I'd call it Rachel Berry's college style." Kurt sounded so excited and seemed like he had everything under control.

" Aww thank you Kurt, you're really helping me, you know how stressful it is to choose the right outifit for your first day at NYADA! And judging by what you're wearing I think you really chose the perfect outfit for you! Is that a vintage jacket?!"

" Yes it is and thank you Rachel, I know you would understand, and it's the same jacket featured on the cover of the latest vintage insert on Vogue. I bought it online."

"It's lovely, Kurt, and it suits you perfectly, you will stand out as soon as you put your first step into NYADA, I'm sure"

" Of course I will, I have no doubt, we both will, I don't think there are lots of people with the same amount of talent we have and my fashion taste so we'll definitely be the best of the best without even trying. By the way all you need to do now is have breakfast and then take a relaxing cold shower, it'll wake up your skin. And did I mention I made us a pocket lunch to eat during our lunch break?! Only healthy food that's good for our body and soul."
