I am Number 6, I have had a few names in the past few years but right now I am going on the name Storm.
I was walking along the street when I felt it, burning through my leg. Instantly I was in pain and felt like screaming. People around me started to stare as I started limping heavily, so I held my back up and tried to walk down the closes ally. No one followed me, I mean who would want to follow the weird girl on the street down a dark ally.
As I got to the end of the ally, I dropped to the floor. Hitting the big bin behind me as I dropped down. I quickly looked at my new scar that was searing into my skin, but it was too much pain, I was starting to cry, and let me tell you something I never cry. EVER! I pushed down on the burning scar to try to ease the pain, but it just started burning my hand.
I slowly started to calm down, my breath slowing down and the tears starting to go way. The pain of this scar was nothing like the first two. I still can’t believe the mogs are catching the garde so fast already the first three are down. I get up, still needing to limp a little due to the new circular, scar embedded in my leg. As I walk out of the ally, I think about finding a new place to stay even though I am number six and they are only up to four, it is getting close to me and I need to get a move on.
I sluggishly limp/walk to where I was staying, an old motel two blocks away from where I was staying, in Alaska. I am moving to LA next, yeah it is a bit, wild and everything, but that sums me up in one. Plus why would the mogs think of looking in LA for a garde member.
I finally get into my little motel room and examine my new scar a little more. I know that it is the symbol for three in the loric terms. I feel sorry for three, even though I don’t know who they are. But the pain for me was so intents I wonder if I hurt him (I am guessing) just as much. I pack up all my stuff from the I was staying in. I hate having to move alone, it makes me feel so sad. I move alone because my Cepan died, I don’t want to talk about that tough.
As I leave the motel, I say thank you to the lady at the dirty, old desk and give her a couple of notes for my stay. I leave the motel knowing that I am going to have to catch a plane. I don’t have enough money just to be wasting it on plane tickets so I am going to have to use some of my legacies. I walk down the street, and see what I dreaded the most, three mogs walking my way. I quickly turn invisible, and double-checked that my backpack also did. I am still getting used to this legacy. The mogs were still coming towards me.
No one had seen me go invisible or so I thought, because a little boy started yelling to people that a blonde girl just went invisible, by the way that blonde girl is me. Nobody believed the boy other then the mogs. Being as smart as egg heads, which they are. They go up to the boy and where he say the girl go invisible. The boy tells them that he can see her flicking in and out of invisibility. Which is weird no one has ever seen me flickering in and out of my invisibility.
I look down at where my hands are meant to be and they are not there. I defiantly am invisible. But the boy is pointing right at me. I quickly start running and his finger flows, but I speed up too much so I must just me a blur to him, because he loses me. But I can see the mogs coming after me, but I can tell they don’t know where I am.
I am heading for the train station, which should just me around the corner. I’m still invisible and whizzing in and out of people. They can feel me as I brush past them but they don’t know where from. As I start to slow down near the train station I also turn off my invisibility, not needing it any more.
I look around, watching for any mogs, when I see something a bit out of the blue. A well built, short, black haired, boy around my age, with three circles on his leg. I know that he has to be one of us and I stare at him until he notices then, quickly point to my leg. He understands that we aren’t meant to be near each other and runs off, and then I think, started to fly. He must be one of the remanding numbers. Does this mean that we broke the charm by accident, or because it was such a sort encounter, does it not matter. We didn’t even talk all these thoughts were doing through my head that I didn’t even realize the train I needed to catch had arrived.
I heard the whistle of the train and quickly sprinted to the door and went inside just before it closed. I could see people going around collecting tickets, so I needed to go invisible before they got to me because I had no spare money. I started to walk in the opposite direction from them, when I saw the sign for the bathrooms, and ducked into them, turning myself invisible. I quickly walked out of the cubical, hoping that no one would see a random door opening.
When I went out all the seats were taken in this carriage so I had to go to the next. In the next there were plenty of seats. I quickly took one and remembered that I was still invisible, and because no one was going around collecting tickets in here I could change back. I did, again not thinking about who was watching. But no one looked at me with an insane look so I think I was fine.
I realized soon that the reason hardly anyone was in this carriage, was because it was the first class one. I found that out when the food came around. It was my first decent meal in a while. Also on the train I had a quick sleep and then it seemed like it was time to get off.
I got off and walked into the airport. Because it was one of those trains that take you right up to the airport door. As I walked in they were doing a lot of security checks and since I didn’t have any ID, at all this was one of the worst places for me to be. I quickly found a quiet spot and went invisible again. I looked around for any signs of danger and then left my quiet spot.
Walking straight through security invisibly might sound easy but when there are people accidently bumping the empty space, and screaming say that there is something there it is not so easy. Finally I get into the final part of security before I would have to decide which plane to get onto.
I looked up at the big screen, a flight to Las Vegas, flashed up. It would be a five-hour flight. The flight closed in twenty minute that was heaps of time for me to get onto the plane. As I walked up to the security gate to get onto the plane, I made sure I was invisible this would be my first time on a plane, very! And to tell you the truth it scared me.
As I bored the plane, I didn’t sit down as, I needed to see which seats were free. I waited still invisible. I was sweating from holding my concentration for so long. Once the plane was fully boarded, there were quite a few seats left. I quickly went into the bathroom hoping no one would see the door randomly open then close.
As soon I went into the bathroom, I went back to visibility. Relieved that I didn’t have to concentrate much longer.
