"Emily!" "Let go of her!" "Stop! You don't know what you're doing!"
Their voices pounded in my ears. I could see their faces, agony, pain, screaming. Those little boys, they needed me. They wouldn't last a day without me. I looked at the two guards holding my arms. They were burly, but I could take them. I pulled my arms out of their grip and kneed one in the balls, while using a pressure point to get the other one on the ground. Five more guards poured out of the building just as I was pummeling their heads together.
"Get the stronger pills; she's a fiesty one. We need to erase all her memory of this place." One said. I snarled at him and pounced, knocking him to the ground. I socked him in the balls, over and over until he was begging me to stop. I felt myself being pulled back.
"Emily! Quick, we can get away now! Quickly, before more come out!" I looked back, expecting to see Garrett, but instead, I found myself looking at Zach. He had a pleading look in his eyes. Those eyes. Those deep, brown eyes. They were usually so lively. Not now. Now, they looked at me with something I couldn't fathom until now.
Love.
I pushed him away. "No! I need to teach them never to take me from my family again!" I screamed. Zach looked at me with pain in his eyes.
"Do you even know what you're doing?! They'll take you away if you stay, come one!" Zach yelled. It was raining now, hard. I looked at him and then hugged him. He stood there in shock as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Don't worry about me. If I do get taken, don't abondon the Rebels or the Knifes. Wait for me." I whispered. I let go and turned, jumping onto the guard I had kicked in the balls to work on his face. I could hear Zach yelling for me as guards pulled him away. I felt a cloth forced around my mouth and nose as I breathed in.
