"Eric!" I yelled after watching the knife penetrate through Eric's chest. "Who's not man enough now?...wait, what?" The guy stepped back, just staring. Eric stood, holding his gaze with a knife deep in his chest. Barely any blood spilled from the wound. Eric took a step forward, which caused the guy to back away and trip to the ground.
I just stared too. not knowing what I should be thinking or doing. "You would kill a man for stopping you from raping someone. I honestly don't get people like you." Eric grabbed the knife and pulled it out without even wincing. "What the...," was all the guy could say.
"People like you destroy lives everyday. You make me sick." Eric grabbed the guy by the throat and lifted him up and then lightly slammed him against the building wall he was just against not a minute ago. I said lightly, which means he went really easy on him. I can still tell it hurt the guy though. "Please, oh God, don't kill me!" cried the guy.
The moment of truth. I was scared of what would come next. "I'm not going to kill you. I have enough problems to deal with. I stop you from committing a disgusting act and you have the gall to think I'm in the wrong. Tell me. Be as brutally honest with me right now. Do you think that what you were going to do was good?" The guy remained silent. Eric released his grip, but the guy remained against the wall.
"I won't kill you. Instead, I'll let you live. But remember, I'll be watching. You try anything like that again, I'll kill you. Even if I'm not there to hear about it right then and there, I will find out. And I will kill you." The guy nodded quickly. Eric gestured for him to leave. The guy hesitated but then ran away. Eric stood with his arms crossed.
"Eric. That was amazing. You could've killed him but you-"
"Seriously do not want to talk about it right now. I need to go. See ya, Matt." Eric speed walked away from me. I decided to go straight to the restaurant to wait for Amelia, despite my early arrival. After that day, I haven't seen Eric for about a month and a half. Not until March rolled up. During that time he had left school or just didn't go. But in that time, Black Widow Crow still made his appearances and increased his popularity among Chicago. Fan clubs, online merchandise, fan-made websites to basically stalk him.
I was just walking home from taking Amelia out on a date in a different restaurant than our usual spot, when I noticed that there were police sirens blaring throughout the city and quite a few police helicopters in the air. Then I noticed that the sirens ahead of me were getting closer and the helicopters started flying my way. For a split second I thought they were after me. That changed when I saw a figure land right before me.
"Eric?" Eric was wearing his outfit and was breathing heavily. "Matt, curse your different dates. Please, listen to me, I don't have time. I need you to-" He was interrupted by a squad of cop cars turning down the street and a helicopter shining a light on him. "To the one known as 'Black Widow Crow', you are under arrest for the murder of multiple men and one woman.
"You killed people!?" I yelled above the noise of the helicopter. "The old murders! Listen I need you to do something when they take me. I need you to-" He was interrupted again by multiple cops grabbing hold of him and putting him in handcuffs and then dragging him off to one of the cars. Just before he was placed into the car, he yelled out one final thing, "Look after my sister!"
After that, they drove off and left me with the other cops who were supposed to question me.
