"What the hell, someone's actually dead!?" Jared hissed in a whisper as he looked around in alarm. No cell phones were working. There was not a signal on anyone's phone. The elder Carter brothers phone seemed to be no exception.
"How about less talking, more door opening!" Evie said, bouncing from foot to foot. "Hurry up!"
Their previous relief was gone. The group tried to remain calm as the horrible realization sunk itself in. Chewie was actually dead, and Abby was most likely as well.Jared looked spooked by the chainsaw and the loud scream, leading Lily to believe he truly wasn't behind any of the major things happening tonight.
Jared shuffled through each pocket of his dark jeans, his eyes widening. "The keys aren't in my pocket-""-Bull!" Reese snarled, his eyes raking over his brother. "How do you not have the keys-"
"Beverly...." a loud, smooth robotic voice called over the loudspeaker.
Everyone in the group provided dead silence as they froze in place. People turned on their flashlights to look around the dark hallway.
"My Beverly....Please send your little friends home. They're getting in the way of us being together."
Silence soon followed that rather frightening announcement. Very slowly, all eyes of the group turned towards Lily with the exception of Jared. He looked around in surprise. "That is definitely not me..."
"-Someone wants you to be Beverly..." Cara said, rubbing her nose as her eyes didn't leave Lily. Cara's crying had started up again, giving her smudged makeup the appearance of a distraught raccoon. "Go be Beverly!"
Reese stared at Cara with strong disgust. "Beverly Jericho was murdered almost twenty years ago...If someone wants to play copycat, they're just gonna kill her!"
"But....He said we get to go home..." JP said, his eyes watching Lily as they held a certain gleam behind them. "She should go."
It was seeing everyone watch her strangely that made Lily turn around and start roughly kicking the chains of the doors yet again. This was insane. She would be damned if she was going to sacrifice herself to some crazy person who was killing off her classmates in torturous ways."Open the fucking door, Jared" Davion snarled, assisting Lily in attempting to break the lock. Unfortunately for them, the wood was incredibly too thick.
"I don't have the keys....They have to be inside the office!" Jared said, looking down the hallway. "On the other side of the school..."
"Well who the hell knows what we'll find walking there" Nico shrugged. "Our best bet is going through one of the windows-"
"-What part of hammer glass are you not getting??" Reese countered angrily. "Those puppies are practically bullet proof!"
Lily suddenly developed an idea as she tapped Jared on the shoulder. "You said you chained the main doors...Does that mean there's another door somewhere unchained??"
Jared slowly nodded. "The school lockers behind the pool. There's a door that leads to the faculty parking lot. Not only is it unchained, but, it's probably unlocked due to it being broken. Although, we should just get the keys I left in the office."
"...Wait, wait...." Davion said, eyeing the camera Reese was still holding protectively. "If you're the one who did the music and the chains, who the hell did the ghost chick thing on camera??"
Jared looked once again confused. "You caught something on camera??"
"I think we should spend more time focusing on less talking and more escaping..." Evie announced quietly, gently shaking. Using her flashlight app, Lily saw the direction Evie's eyes were staring. Her blue-green orbs were bolted open with wide alarm as she started to tremble. Against her better judgement, Lily directed her light over to the opposite side of the hallway towards the direction her spooked friend was looking.
