I fell

You wake up to the sound of bottles being clashed together, you sit up and walk down stairs " please don't be mum " you whisper to yourself . You poke your head round the corner and see Ashton with a bin bag collecting rubbish from last night , he looks up at you .

" hey you , sleeping beauty finally awakes " , he says picking up five more bottles .

" how are you not hungover my head is killing " you put your hand to you head and pout .

Ashton puts the bag down and goes in the medicine cupboard " here " he says handing you a box of aspirin .

You take it out his hand and pour a glass of water . You put the tablet in your mouth then swing your head back as you pour water inside . " that's better " .

" did anything bad happen last night ?"  , Ashton asks nervously.

You instantly remember what Ashton did last night . When he tried to make out with you . " no" , you say quickly .

He walks over and spins you towards him ." Cmon tell me I know something did " , he puts his arms on your shoulder .

" I'll just say quick ok , well you tried to kiss me but I said no and tried to get off the couch put you pushed me down and kept trying to make out with me but then I kneed you and ran off up stairs ". You gasp for a breath after that .

He takes his hands off your shoulders and hugs you Alex "I'm so sorry , I shouldn't of done that " .

You hold him tighter " it's ok " , holding Ashton made you feel safe like no one could hurt you , but wait isn't that what your meant to feel with the person you love . You pull off him .

He looks at you weird " are you  ok , you look like you know something you shouldn't " he crosses his arms " tell me " .

You do an awkward  laugh " hah Ye no I just forgot my um ..... My .." .You look around knowing this is a really bad excuse ," I need to change you can stay if you want but you might get bored " .

He looks at you suspiciously and you walk to the bathroom , when he grabs your arm " wait , what's that " he points at the bruise on your arm from when James grabbed you the other day .

" oh that I just hit my arm " . why did I lie  . That's the worst thing i could of said he's not going to believe that .

" Alex I've been your best friend for a long time and I know when your not telling the truth , was it James did he hurt you ?" , he stops for A bit " omg it was I'm gonna kill him " .

"  Nono ! Ashton it's fine he just um he bumped into me he didn't mean to ash ", shit why did you say that probably because Ashton would kill him even if James called you a name he would go mad . As long as he doesn't ask me to promise .

" Alex do you promise " , he looks in your eyes , " if he is hurting you I can talk to him , just promise me he isn't ok ?" .

Great exactly what you didn't want him to say , you don't know what to say back so you just run in the bathroom and lock it . James has hurt you physically before he punched you and kicked you , but he doesn't mean it . All of a sudden the door starts banging.

" ALEX ! Open the door please just talk to me , if this is about James he's a total loser you know he has no future , and all your friends hate him , just saying " , he starts saying words from songs he writes he always does it when I'm sad . " you should leave him cause he really makes me sick " he sings .

" ok ok I'm getting up just promise you'll stop singing " , you laugh opening the door .

" promise me he doesn't hurt you " , he says pulling you out the bathroom .

You sigh really loud " I promise " .....

Later on in the day Abigail came over with James , Ashton left . " what we doing today ?" You ask .

" I'm going out with my mom so I can't do anything " , Abigail says .

You turn to James " what about you babe " .

" i uh have a thing I have to do , oh look at the time I better do it ". He says getting up .

" what you got here like ten minutes ago " , you say confused .

" I'm gonna let you two talk love you Alex " , Abigail says before shutting the door behind her . Your scared now with James on your own he's may be annoyed what if he hits you .

" Alex be grateful I even came to see you , you selfish brat  god your so annoying I just wanna hit you " , he say grabbing his coat .

Your terrified now ," James please just sit down five more minutes " , you hold his arm but he hits you across the face and you fall to the ground .

" get away from me you bitch " , " look what you made me do  now I hurt you it's your fault I hit you " .

You hold you face as it's throbbing " James please calm down , I love you " you say getting back up .

" your only  saying that do I won't hit you again , well ..." , he swings his fist straight into your face .

" no stop please " you beg as he keeps hitting you and kicking you .

" I need to leave now , just remember you fell down the stairs " , he says before shutting the door behind him . You try to get up but your rib hurts ,I know it's stupid to stay with him but if I broke up with him God knows what he'd do . You think to yourself . You finally get up and you sit on your couch .

The door opens and Ashton is there " hey , what's that , is that blood !" .

You don't turn around because you haven't even seen your face ," no I just dropped a ketchup packet on the floor " , he starts to walk to the couch and you stay face away ." I'm just gonna go to the bathroom " . You walk in and look at your face . " oh my god " . You say in shock . Your eye is swollen with green and blue bruises , and you have a hand print on your cheek . You lift up your shirt and see your sides are black and blue and there bleeding . " Ashton will never believe that i fell down the stairs " you say to your self .

" hey Alex " ash knocks on the door ," you done yet .you grab the foundation and concealer and cover up the hand prints and bruises but the eye is too big .

" Ye one sec" , you open the door and his face drops .

" what the hell is that, is that .. Is that a black eye " he asks holding your face .

" I ... I fell down the stairs that's all clumsy me ".

He turns on the tap and wets a tissue then places it on your face . When he takes it away the foundation and concealer run onto it . " you tried to cover it up ", he says . You take the tissue and throw it away .

" I didn't I just had pale skin " , you blend the makeup back over . He grabs your hand and you scream , your still in shock from before . He looks at you weird " you just scared me " .

" I scare a lot of people that sounded like you were traumatised " , he holds your face and looks in your eyes . " Alex tell me what happened  please " .

You take his hands if your face and walk out the bathroom " I told you I fell down the stairs , just leave me alone please " . He follows you and hugs you from behind .

" Alex listen ", he spins you around ." I will never let anything happen to you ok and if anything does you tell me please ".

" I will Ashton your my best friend and I love you ok ", hope he knows you meant you loved him as a friend .
