Madilyn couldn't have gotten to her room faster. She didn't need anyone to see her crying. Crying, is not her thing. Crying, is for children, and it doesn't solve anything.
Once she was in, she closed the door and locked it. She held both of her hands and her face firmly on the door, taking a deep breath, and forcing her tears back.
Stop it. Stop it. Don't you dare cry, don't you dare...
There was a knock on the door. "Maddy, can I come in?"
She sighed, and unlocked the door.
"Are you ok?" Zara's pitiful expression angered her. It made her feel pathetic and weak. Just like crying.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry about that." She turned away from her so that Zara couldn't see her welling up.
"Why are apologizing to me? You didn't insult me, or anything."
"I know, but I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable or anything. It's just."
"Just what?"
"I don't want him here." She exhaled.
"Maddy, he's our brother. No matter what. Fights or not. " Zara paused. "What happened between you two? I don't think you're angry with him just because of Amelia. So what is it?"
Madilyn sank in her chair, and started spinning, refusing to answer. She couldn't tell her. No matter how understanding and open-minded Zara was, this was, this was something else. She wouldn't understand this.
After a couple of minutes of silence, Zara sighed and walked out of Madelyn's room, leaving her lost in her own world. And, that was a dangerous place.
