"So the velocity of the moving"
Beeep beeep beeep
"miss Elizabeth can you please maintain silence"
" yesma'am, shh please shut up shut up SHUT UP!!
what's wrong with this alarm clock shhhhhh!!! "

Beeep beeep beeeep

I wake up with a jolt and realise that I wasn't in my physics class, but in my bedroom with my alarm ringing non-stop
*phew* .
That was one weird dream there.

I wish god gave me the job of scriptwriting dreams; if there was any job like that, you know like the one in inside out I am sure everyone would wake up from their sleep smiling!
Except for some though.

I walk past my kitchen only to realize that if I don't go to the grocery store today I am going to starve to......
Well sleep I guess?
Don't you think brushing your teeth is hard work I mean can't you scientists invent some sprays to maintain our oral health why make us people go through this pain every day ?

After I am done completing my very dull routine of making myself presentable, I wait for Hazel cause she is carpooling me since I am a pity full-car-less-19 year old. I munch on one of the most boring food found on planet earth the "apple".
When I spot Hazel's car I walk up to the car to find her typing ferociously on her phone, let me introduce my darling my beastie the one and only Hazel to you, she is 5'5 fair, lean with straight black hair that reach her waist, she has hazel eyes probably why Mr. and Mrs. Bartley named her that.

Wait did I introduce myself yet?
Well it's never too late is it?
I am Elizabeth, An olive skinned chick and I like to hide my 5 feet something body under hideous clothes for some reasons.

I glance over at Hazel who was wearing a lacy white floral shirt with tattered black jeans, and then look over at my outfit,
well well well you can never surprise yourself  Elizabeth can you?
But a good old blue jeans with a plain black t-shirt is a good outfit right?

Unlike hazels straight hair mine were curly, soo I can't let them loose and look all princesy as she is looking at the momemt. I had hate to wrestle my hair out from those tangles  during my English period. So I usually tie them up.

Hazel hits the accelerator the moment my door closes, someone's in a rush ?
I don't have to think much as Hazel spills the beans, "Elle today is the last day for submitting the forms for this campaign and we both have to sign up for it. We are soo late!"
Ummmm, well thanks for asking?
Even after these things I wonder what kept her along with me after all these years, it definitely is a mystery to be pondered upon.

<flashback>
My first day of grade 9, and i already curse my schedule, who keeps  physics the first thing in the morning?
Trash-holes.
And to top it all I got late and now I can't even chose where i seat.
"Elizabeth since you don't have any place do you mind sitting near Hazel", Mrs Morley's voice breaks my train of thought and I look over to the girl Hazel, she looks pretty, where are her other pretty friends?
Wouldn't she mind sitting with me?
"Elizabeth?", Mrs Morley's looks at me confused, and I realise I haven't answered her yet.
"Sure ma'am I have no problems at all", I answer her and sit beside Hazel.
Mrs Morley tells the class that she won't be taking the class today as she is making up her teaching schedule.
I look around for any familiar faces, none.
Changing schools and city has been hectic I had just made my new set of friends and it was time to leave again, dad and his job.
But not now this is it, this won't change and I am glad to be out of that part of my life, for once the change didn't bother me.
I just want to make the right friends and be with the right people.
I take out my note book and try to do something in it to look....less jobless.
I look up as I feel Hazel's eyes on me.

"Hi I m Hazel, Hazel Bartley",
Bartley? That's an unusual name. I put forth my hand and introduce myself.
"I am Elizabeth", what else do I say?
She looks at me with an awkward smile waiting for me to continue as our hands continue to be intervined into a handshake.
"I can sit here right?", I blurt out my initial thoughts of her not wanting to sit with me.
"Well Mrs Morley told you to", she replies nonchalantly, well I don't see any signs of contempt, good.
"Well yeah", I chuckle stiffly, and turn back to my book to avoid further awkwardness.

~15 minutes later~

"Elizabeth what are you doing", Hazel nudges me in my arm, to grab my attention.

"Nothing much just doodling something", I reply as I try to hide the ugly flower at the corner of my page

"Oh, let me see I have always wanted to be friends with someone who liked to sketch and all", she looks into my notebook excitedly, oh no this is going to be soo mortifying.
"Cool....thats pretty good, haha", Hazel tries to hide her disappointment.
"yeah, I am learning", I reply trying hard to get over the horrible situation.
I thought she wouldn't stay, I thought she would ghost me from the other day, but she didn't.
She stayed and she stayed through thick and thin through the four years we have known each other.
And I love her, I love you Hazel.

"I love you too Elle", Hazel giggles.
Wait what I said that aloud?!
"Yes you did" she chuckled amused.
That too?? Stupid Elizabeth.
I have to get my brain and mouth co-ordination checked at the latest!

I look up to see that we have arrived at the miniature model of hell on earth i.e.; Windfolk  college, I grab my bag and head out towards my locker...since Hazel's locker is away from mine we say our timely goodbyes since we share the third hour.
I walk to my locker amidst the usual chaos in the corridors. I reach my locker, grab my books and do the half run and half jog to my geography class as I am already 2 minutes late. Its not my fault, its like everywhere I have to be cannot be close to my locker.

I m Half way through the geography class as the teacher explains the formation of caves and stalactites, my phone vibrates, and I get a notification from Hazel informing me to meet her as soon as possible, I patiently wait for the period to get over and then run towards the girls washroom located at the end of the corridor, again, which is mostly deserted only to find Hazel in tears.

I go up to her and hug her tight. I wait for her to calm down before asking the reason, "whats wrong Hazel? Everything fine.", Ofcourse its not fine Elizabeth!
She composes herself and starts speaking, "Mr Gary died....he was killed."
I was shocked shattered to say the least, Mr Gary was young, how could he and who could could be so heatless to kill him?
I breath shakily before gathering the courage to ask her,"wh-who did it, and why?"
"I don't know, mom said it must have been the old ladies cat, that piece of stinking fur.", Hazel replied all signs of sadness replaced with anger.

So Mr Gary was Hazel's new pet rabbit, poor man he was hardly two weeks old, he didn't deserve to die.
After we both mourn his death we go out and into the ocean of laughing, chattering, busy crowd of students.
How peculiar it is, while you walk among all these people. You see everyone in a fleeting glance. And you won't remember them later. Yet they are worth more than that. They all have lives, so many stories to tell, so much going on in their lives, its amusing how we live our lives and die, some as short as Mr Gary, and yet we are a part of this huge place. We are drops, tiny drops of dews into a humongous ocean. How beguiling is Sonder.
