TayBayBay: Wait. So you have a date with one of the guys in Niall’s band?
LeahBoBeanax3: yeaaa. liam.
TayBayBay: Which one is that?
LeahBoBeanax3: i’ll send you a picture message. check your phone…now.
TayBayBay: Whoa. DAMN GIRL.
LeahBoBeanax3: well i dont know if i’d call it date..seeing as how niall kind of forced it upon both of us. it was really embarassing, actually. but i know he’s just trying to make me happy. i think.
TayBayBay: Do you like him?
LeahBoBeanax3: i hardly know him! i mean, yea, he’s gorgeous. but what if he turns out to be some superficial douchebag?
TayBayBay: One way to find out.
LeahBoBeanax3: you’re right. i’m not complaining about going out with someone so gorgeous..it just would’ve been nicer if he asked me, instead of niall sort of hooking us up. but whatever.
TayBayBay: Yea. But hey, a dates a date. You’re getting more action than me.
LeahBoBeanax3: what happened to robbie? :/
TayBayBay: He never called or texted. So I was like “fuck that” and went out with Kasey. We went bowling. We could’ve used your skills. ;)
LeahBoBeanax3: you mean my bumper bowling skills? no thanks. do you know how embarassing it is to be 17 years old and still need to bowl with bumpers otherwise you get a friggin negative score?
TayBayBay: Haha! What time is your date at?
LeahBoBeanax3: 7:30
TayBayBay: Uh..what time is it now there?
LeahBoBeanax3: 7..FUCK!!! i need to go. i have 30 minutes to get ready.
TayBayBay: Text me when you can <3
LeahBoBeanax3 signed off.
I hadn’t even realized what time it was. I was way too busy talking it up with Taylor. I hadn’t even picked out what I was going to wear! Letting out a frusturated sigh, I opened my suitcase and began to rummage through all my clothes. Had I even brought anything that could be considered acceptable on a date? Just then, Niall saunterd in.
“Well, I’m going to go. I don’t wanna be around when Liam picks you up. The little cogs in his head will turn and he’ll figure something is up.” he said with a smirk, leaning up against the door frame of the guest bedroom, twirling his keys around his index finger. I didn’t even acknowledge his presence and continued to throw clothes all about, desperate for something cute to wear. There was nothing. I turned to look at Niall, who was smirking.
“You have no bloody idea what you’re going to wear, do you?” I turned my middle finger up in the air towards him and he let out a chuckle. “Well..I’ll tell you one thing then be on my way. Liam doesn’t like girls who get all girly on him. So if you have nice jeans and a t-shirt or something, you’ll be fine.”
Keeping to his promise, Niall walked out. I heard him walking down the stairs, followed by the slam of the front door. I stared at my clothes on the floor, biting my lip nervously, picking up some dark wash skinny jeans. These would have to do. Throwing them on quickly, I rummaged around for a shirt to go with it. Deciding on a baby blue sweater and white lace tanktop underneath, I quickly put both of those on before running into the bathroom while sliding my black heels on. I was looking like a mess, as usual. I never tried with makeup or hair inless I was going out with friends, to school or on a date. And this could be one of the most important dates of my life.
I had fifteen minutes. Cussing under my breath, I set to work on my hair, fixing its curls with my aunt’s curling iron. It must’ve been high quality, because the curls sprung back to life, bouncing against my shoulders as I moved to touch up my makeup. Just as I was sliding my Soft Lips tinted lip balm on. The door bell rang its soft melody throughout the empty house. My heart raced as I took one last look in the mirror, breathing heavily. This was it.
I slowly emerged down the stairs, taking another deep breath before walking to the door and opening it. Liam was standing outside, hands shoved in his pockets, smiling coyly up at me. I felt all the air from my lungs escape and my cheeks flush their stupid bright red. God, how I hated my bad habit of blushing. His eyes were peering out behind his perfect hair. He was wearing a dress shirt and khaki pants. Suddenly, I felt very under dressed.
“Hi.” I said, the air finally returning to my lungs, being snapped out of my trance.
“Hello, Leah. Ready to go?” he asked smoothly, smiling a bit bigger. Oh my god, that damn smile. Was an angel choir really singing or was that in my head? I stared down at my outfit, then back up at him.
“Er.. I..should I change? I wasn’t sure what we were doing and Niall kind of told me to dress casual.” Yes. That’s it. Blame Niall. Liam chuckled softly and shook his head.
“No. You look lovely. I guess I’m the prick that over dressed.” he said, itching the back of his neck. Did he really just say I looked lovely? I felt as though I was floating, then smiled big.
“No. You look really really nice. Trust me.” I replied. The boys cheeks turned red and he smiled. He blushed too?! I felt alot lighter than I did when I first answered the door.
“Well thank you. Lets get going.” he said, offering me his arm. I took it slowly, taking in every word and movement to tell Taylor later. He walked us down the cobble walk way to an old, somewhat beat up Chevy Camaro. I let out a giggle.
After unlocking the door, Liam turned to me, frowning slightly. “I’m sorry about the car..” he said softly, biting his lip. Just then I realized my giggle had probably been misinterperated.
“No. I wasn’t..I think it’s really cute. My dad’s into old cars too. ‘82 Camaro, right?” I asked as he held my door open. His frown turned upside down into a huge grin as I slid in the passengers side.
“Yea. Yea it is.” he replied before shutting my door and jogging around to the drivers side and getting it. I smiled at him as he started up the car. As he began to back out of Niall’s driveway, I saw Niall hiding in the bushes near the mailbox. My mouth fell open as he grinned, giving me a huge thumbs up sign. Liam was too busy backing out to notice this. I glared at the boy, but I knew it wasn’t convincing. I was still wearing a smile on my face.
As we turned onto the street, Liam spoke.“I thought we could go to dinner at this really good Pizza place before I show you around. Cuz I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.”I laughed, looking out the window at the stores and buildings that passed by. “That sounds amazing. I’m pretty hungry too.” I replied, twisting some hair around my index finger.
He looked over at me momentarily with a smile, then back at the road, slamming on the brakes. Liam had stopped just in time. In front of us stood a mob of girls, all screaming, camera’s flashing everywhere. My mouth dropped, staring at the scene. “LIAM! OH MY GOSH, ITS LIAM!” they screamed, clawing at the windows and doors. Apparently I was invisible. I had a knack for that.
“Wait..who the FUCK is that?” one of the girls asked with a scrunched up look on her face, pointing at me. Spoke too soon. “Who is that bitch?!” Another girl yelled. Suddenly they were all staring at me, glaring, yelling obscenities. Well..this was a fabulous start to the date.
