"Okay class, today we are heading out!" Ms. Gregg chirps as the bell rings. I groan and reach down for my bag that I literally just sat down. I rummage through it in search of my camera. Papers start flying out as I grow more frantic. Finally, at the bottom of my bad rests my black camera case.
"S'cuse me, Ma'am you dropped this." A guy says handing me folder. I turn to grab my folder. I turn to see Seth Jaimson, captain of the football team.
"Thank ya' Sir." I say sarcastically. I grab the folder out of his hands, brushing his rough callused hands.
"Seth Jaimson, pleased to make your acquaintance." he says. He looks me up and down, much like how Spencer did last night, I shiver. "And you are..?" he asks raising his black eyebrow.
"Jolie Winters." I say plastering a smile on my face. Seriously though, everyone knows he's a fuckboy.
"So thats your name. Nobody really knows all we really know is you hangout with the hot girl Kaycee right?" he says. I roll my eyes and nod.
"Well your goofballs of friends are waiting for you to report back with information, you better go." I say flatly jabbing my thumb in the direction of the football team gawking.
He throws his hands up in defense. "My mistake for leaving the goons unattended. See you around?" he tells more than asks. With that he looks me up and down and stalks away. I feel exposed in my skinny jeans and black shirt. Imagine how Kaycee feels on a daily basis, but then again she's used to it.
"Ready class? If you forgot your camera take one from the back closet." Ms. Gregg yells over us, for a class of ten, we sure are noisy.
☀️
"Winters, are you trying to take my photo? Because if you are go ahead." Seth asks me, I see him pop up in my window and smile. Ugh why do fuckboys always have to be adorable? I mean come on with jet black hair and blue twinkling eyes oh and you can't forget the pearly white smile and deep dimples. Okay yeah he is a babe.
"Nope, just trying to get the tree behind you." I say blankly. I take my camera down from my eye and step around him. Today's class is boring, we have to take photos of non-moving objects and non-living, we call it the "non" day.
"Look at you on task." He laughs. I sigh and place my camera on the picnic table next to me.
"Hey make yourself useful and hand me my sandwich?" I ask nodding my head behind him.
"Sure thing Belle." he says grabbing my teal lunch pale.
"What did you call me?" I ask rummaging through my pale.
"Belle, you know like the princess." he says smiling.
"Can you call me by my real name please?" I scoff.
"Get back to work everyone!" Ms. Gregg yells as I take a sweet bite of my sandwich. She walks towards me and Seth and uses her hands to motion us away. I roll my eyes and grab my camera again.
"No can do, Belle." he smirks and turns away from me.
☀️
"Goddamn it!" I shrike as hot coffee rolls down my chest.
"Im so sorry!" I guys voice yells back. I look down at my perfectly white shirt stained brown, damn it it was brand spankin' new!
"Whatever, it's fine." I say into intense green eyes. I search his face to find out who it is. He looks at my shirt and smiles.
"Hey, I can get it dry cleaned for you and if it doesn't come out i'll buy you a new one, okay?" he says apologetically. Of course he can, he's literally the richest guy in the state.
"Um, thanks. And why don't you just watch where your going next time?" I say bitterly, my trying to sound nice falters.
"Yeah sounds good." he says smiling.
"Um, Jolie Winters." I smile, hugging my arms to my now cold chest.
"Kyle Edmunds." he smirks.
"Whats up Jo-" Beau says approching me and Kyle. He looks at me and then at the empty coffee cups in Kyle's hands. Without saying a word he takes off his sweatshirt and wraps it around me.
"Well i'll see you later Jolie?" Kyle winks and leaves.
"What was that all about?" Beau asks raising his eyebrows.
"Oh I was walking and we weren't paying attention next thing 'ya know hot coffee down my chest." I huff.
"Jerk." Beau says. "Hey I think you left a shirt in my truck from when we went swimming." he continues.
"Well what are you waiting for lets go to the shit-mobile!" I yell. Everyone in the hallway turns and looks at us. I try not to laugh.
He gives me a stern look and shakes his head and laughs. "Oh your different aren't you?"
"Yep, but remember you picked me, buddy."
"Okay, okay. We need to sign out first." he coughs and starts walking toward the main office.
"Oh look who's being a goody two shoes?" I laugh.
"Look who's being a twerp again." he says lightly punching my arm.
"Pssh of course."
We walk into the office and Beau quickly signs us out the lady gives us a stern look before we turn out. We walk briskly to his truck and rummage through the collection of my items and his. I finally spot a teal v-neck shirt on the floor board.
"Thank God!" I cheer. I shake the shirt out and grab at the hem of my stained white shirt. I pause waiting for Beau to turn around.
"Oh goodness Jo, I have seen you without a shirt on endless times!" he says. I sigh and turn my back to him striping my shirt and tank top over my head. I shiver in the wind and quickly pull the other shirt over me.
"Much, much better." I sigh. I throw my soiled shirt into the passenger seat and slam the door.
"Good thing you found it, or else I would have had to give you my shirt." Beau says bluntly. "Hey what are you doing this weekend?" he continues.
"Um, nothing. Why?" I ask confused, usually he doesn't ask to come over, he just does.
"Well do you want to come out to the Ranch with me?" he asks with excitement in his voice.
"Hell, yeah. I'm in!" I squeal. We start walking back to the school, I grab his hand and skip like a little kid.
"Oh Dear Jolie, you are such a child." he laughs shaking his head making his small waves move.
"I know, but you love me." I chant.
"Nope, I don't."
"Oh yes you do."
"Okay, maybe tiny bit." he smirks.
"That's still love, little buddy." I giggle, slowing down to a walk.
"Okay big guy." he says grabbing my hand.
"Whatcha doing?" I ask looking down at his hand grasping mine. Quickly his twists my hand behind me and pokes my nose.
"This."
"Weirdo." I say scrunching my nose up.
"I know."
