TWO YEARS LATER
The sun had just started rising. Alo was sleeping on my right,his beautiful,freckled face,so peaceful. Little Gracie was quietly pulling my leg, it was 5.30 am and the little fucker was hungry. What can I say? Like father,like daughter. Big Gracie was also sitting next to the little one. She was gently brushing with her fingers through her hair. "She has my curls",she smiled to me. "Only that hers are ginger thanks to your farmboy". I giggled. I hadn't call him that in two years. "Goodmorning,beautiful" she said happily. I tried hugging her,but she disappeared. Instead,I hugged my daughter. I got into Cambridge if you're wondering. Rich applied for me too,two years ago. "You're smart"he said. "Grace would be thrilled to see how far you've come" he added,whispering while looking down. I want to be a doctor. I couldn't save Grace,but I will save many other lives,for her. Alo dropped out,so that he could be with me and our daughter and work at the same time. He is working at a local bar and although we're not making crazy money,we are fine. It was really hard at first,but now our relationship is better than ever and if you don't mind me...the sex is too. Rich is still his bestfriend,but he's become mine as well. Liv followed Alex and right now they are somewhere in Hawaii,but we are still as tight and always make time for each other every day,even if it's just a text. Franky,Nick and Matty, it's them I've lost. Alo's sudden snorting gets me out of my thoughts. I've been sitting on the floor next to our bed while Gracie has been crying for a good 10 minutes. "Mins what the hell?" He mumbles. "Good morning to you too",I say while I kiss him. Grace is trying to climb on our bed so that she gets between us and we both start laughing. "Come here baby",Al says while he hugs her. I want to keep that moment, like a picture,forever. That's all I ever wanted. Except I thought I would have one more Grace in my life.
