Summer 2016
Today's extremely hot. I'm profusely sweating and I hate sweat. Most people are feeling fine when they sweat but me? I dread sweat. But I couldn't help it. California's just hot during summer. My friends and I are out here, playing volleyball. Not really my favorite but I'm good at it. Plus, I think losing some weight is needed. I'm not that fat or anything but I'm just really conscious. I'm not fat, not skinny. Just normal.
"Your turn to serve, Reagan." My best friend, Jillian, called.
I positioned myself and hit the ball successfully. The game went on like that. Minutes later, the ball rolled across the street. It went too far and my friends are too lazy to get it so I volunteered. "I'll get it."
I ran towards the ball but just when I crossed the street, Jillian yelled, "Watch out!"
I heard a rapid honking and I already knew there's no time for running. So I stood there, my knees trembling, as I watched the truck come closer to me. I closed my eyes while waiting for it to hit me.
Bang!
And then lights out.
