You were dating the coolest guy around-Dirk Strider. Although you might think you were happy, your parents abused you horribly and you cut yourself on your legs often. Thank god for winter, or Dirk would have flipped out.
Dirk never noticed those tiny little flinches when he hugged you of the bruises on your back. He couldn't tell. You couldn't tell him. You were petrified. (Author: insert PETRAfied joke here)
Finally, you had enough of life. To you, death was the key out of this misery. Dirk worked at the coffee shop (*cough cough* Starbucks. *cough*) and his shift ended at 6 p.m. You decided to end it at around 4 p.m. When no one could disturb you. You taped a note to The Striders' front door of your suicide at 3:30 and drove home. You there filled a tub of warm water, and put on your favorite clothes and held your favorite stuffed animal. 'If you are to die, you might as well die as pretty and calmly as possible', you thought. Then, you slipped into the tub. The warm water engulfed you as you closed your eyes. You forced yourself down as you heard the front door slam open.
F*ck.
You forgot It was Dirk's day off.
By then it was too late. You had gone so limp that you were literally drowning. You felt Dirk lift you up out of the tub as you passed out.
You awoke at a hospital. An IV was in your arm as Dirk was sitting in one of those ugly hospital chairs by your bed.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked.
"Tell you what?" You said, scared and confused as to why you hadn't died.
"That you bruised and cut yourself?!?!" Dirk said, slightly raising his voice. A nurse entered the room. "<y/n> your parents want to see you." She said.
"NO!!!" You shouted. You jerked up and flopped back onto the bed. You were seeing little sparkles now.
"Can we have privacy please?" Dirk said.
"Sure. I'll tell <y/n>'s parents that she needs a few minutes." The nurse said, scribbling down notes.
"God D*mnit <y/n>. The bruises were your parents, weren't they." Dirk said as you nod.
Maybe you won't be so alone now.
