A 100% true story <NOT HOMESTUCK>

Warning: things are more emotional, when they are true. At least to me. I swear this is how I was told by a close friend. All names are changed for privacy. Please do not ask me to ask her questions, as this is a very triggering (A word that should not be taken lightly for this) subject for her.
Thank you. You can skip this chapter if you wish. The only not-changed aspects of this story is the storyline, the outcome, and the sport itself.

So my friend was coaching me one day. Her name is Alexis and will be going to college soon. We were in cheer class, with three of the girls on the team that were here, because we were not on multiple cheer squads. So Alexis said to us,
"You guys have it easy, it was never so easy at Elite." (Note: that is not the Gym name either, changed for privacy.) we asked her why, and she told us her story.

At Elite there was this coach called Bailey. Elite had been a great cheer gym, but what went on inside was horrible, it was scarring. Bailey would make you run 3 miles, nonstop, as a warm-up before stretch. They would not stop, even if a girl threw up. Bailey would make them stretch after, and then do I believe an hour of intense strength. The rest of the night, it was complete routines. If you didn't do practically perfectly, you were threatened by Bailey that if you didn't do absolutely perfectly, you would be kicked off the team. (note, she was not legally allowed to kick people off the team like that, as it is an extracurricular sport, and people pay for those classes.) And the girls, they would force themselves to do that. If they didn't do something, Bailey would make the girls do extra strength as the one girl that did something wrong stood in the middle of them all, being forced to watch them suffer. They would beg "please let me do it instead! I was the one who did it wrong!" And Bailey would say "you did this to them. You need to watch them. You made them suffer. It is your fault." Etc. Alexis only had to be in the middle once, when she didn't throw an extremely hard skill. It was mental, and physical abuse. (Not punching, but a different kind.) Almost every single girl would throw up every single practice. And they wouldn't stop. Alexis was found in her room crying by her mother, and Alexis said to her "I can't do this anymore. I want to quit." So Alexis was the first brave spirit to quit. Almost everyone else followed. The gym was closed, but Bailey was never arrested for abuse. The gym, by the way, was closed because Bailey refused to pay property rent or something. Alexis, to this day, is unable to do much cheer stuff. She coaches to raise money for college, and now does my school's cheer program so she doesn't have to do Gym. I don't know what happened to Bailey, but what I do know, is that multiple of my friends had to face the same thing, by the same perpetrator.
If you have a friend victim of something like this, tell someone. Don't keep it hush. By keeping it quiet, you are doing something worse, by hiding the fact that they suffer each and every practice. If they say it's "just getting stronger," it's not. A good coach has a limit, unlike "Bailey" in this story. Please, do the world a favor.
