It had been a few days after what happened with Zhang Zheng Xi, Jian Yi sat on his bed not wanting to get out of the emotional comfort of his blankets. He wasn't ready to go through another day with a face that wasn't his, a face that was all a lie. Ever since he was a child, he had been Zheng Xi's best friend. But ever since that night... he didn't know what they were considered anymore. Jian Yi was confused, and scared. He never really knew how Zhang Xi felt, even when they were kids. But he was scared to ask him what his feelings were in return. He didn't even know his own feelings, and he didn't think his mental state could handle Xi's answer. Jian Yi realized that he had started crying, but quickly wiped them away and pulled himself out of bed. He slipped on a shirt and pants, fixed his hair, and stepped out of his room. The house was quiet and dark, just as expected. His mother still was never around, he'd see her only about 4-5 times a week, but nothing was said much in those times. Merely a quick, "how was your day, darling?" Or "I'm sorry, I've had a long week" Then it was off to do whatever she had to since his father left. Jian Yi let out a shaky breath, and the proceeded to leave for school.

It was rainy that morning, dark clouds raided the atmosphere leaving no blue sky surviving. A gentle wind picked up as Jian Yi arrived at school, he stepped into the almost empty class room and plopped into his chair. He rested his head on his arms, looking around the classroom. His eyes scanned across the posters on the wall, quickly reading the slightly memorized writing. His eye were brought attention to the door, there was Zhang Zheng Xi. Jian Yi lifted his head off his desk and stretched back popping his spin. Zheng Xi walked over and sat in his chair backwards to face Jian Yi.
"You look like you slept on a rock." Jian Yi said grinning at the sleepy looking boy,
"I stayed up half the night trying to do my homework, don't give me shit." Xi replied, rubbing his face.
His hair was a bit messier than usual, and his eyelids hung low with light bags around them. He yawned quietly rubbing the back of his neck, Jian Yi hadn't noticed he was staring at him. But Zheng Xi had,
"Why are you staring at me like that?"
"I wasn't staring," He responded, averting his eyes from the blue ones that look back.
"I just lost my train of thought, nothing much." His fingers curled up to his palms, as he tried to hide his embarrassment. "Do you want to talk about it?" Zheng's fingers touched Jian Yi's knuckles a bit hesitant, his eyes darted back to Xi's who never left their place.
"I-It's nothing, forget it" He pulled his hand away from the other, and with his eyes followed to where his hand lay. "Mmh, that's okay. If you don't want to talk, then I'm not going to force you." Jian Yi could feel his heart pound louder, he quickly readjusted his shirt to hide that sudden feeling.
"Anyways, what were you struggling with last night? I'll see if i can be any help." Zheng Xi reached into his backpack and pulled out his Literature homework. They had spent the rest of the morning working on Xi's homework until class began, but there was something that was a bit different though, Zheng Xi was smiling more than usual. He didn't know if it was because he was tired and sleep deprived, or something other than that. No matter what, he still couldn't determine that boy's emotions.

It seemed like lunch came quicker than usual, Jian Yi was more excited than anything. After waking up a bit, he was talking to his other classmates before Zheng Xi had came back from his trip to talking with the teacher. But as soon as he did, Jian Yi quickly ditched the previous conversation-goers. He smiled at Xi as soon as he made eye contact with him. They both sat in their seats, again, facing each other. Jian Yi quickly ate his food, enjoying every bite of his homecooking. While Zhang Zheng Xi ate slow, looking even more exhausted than this morning. For a moment, Jian Yi though he saw him dozing off.
"Hey Xixi~, why don't you take a nap?" The pale blonde asked his friend,
"No way, I'm not that tired" Zheng Xi replied, lightly slurring his words,
"Yes you are, I can tell, you're speaking funny." He giggled a bit, until he was kicked in the stomach. Even though he was tired, Zheng Xi still kicked him. It was then a mix of laughing and painful cries.
"Ahah-ah, thanks... I needed my daily ass kicking from you" He gripped his stomach as his body filled with a rush of heat. Even though it did hurt when his friend hit him, it was still gentle and considerate, which drove Jian Yi crazy. After bringing his head up from the curling pain, Zheng Xi had dozed off. He slept quietly, keeping the weight of his head rested on his hand. Quiet snores rose from his mouth. Jian Yi smiled, and put away the others lunch so he wouldn't fall into it. He wasn't going to attempt to rest his head on the desk, knowing Zheng Xi was a light sleeper. So he sat there, and just observed like he couldn't of before. His hair was thick, a little too thick, but it still hung beautifully off his head. Jian Yi brought his hand his hair, and played with it gently, running the coarse strands against his skin. Once he had realized what he was doing, he panicked a bit and alerted his eyes to the rest of the class, who looked back at him. He leaned back a bit in his chair, messing with his hair to hide another rush of embarrassment. He looked back at Zheng Xi, who was about to bust his nose on the desk. Jian Yi quickly stood up and grabbed Xi into a hug like position, trying to hold him up. But that was interrupted by the disrupted sleeper, "what the hell are you doing?!?"
Jian Yi realized, once again, what he had done, "U-Um.."
He and Zheng Xi looked to the class, who weren't even trying to hide their gazes. They both grew hot, both blushing tremendously. Jian Yi quickly released him, and picked up his chair that had fallen. The classroom was quiet, the both turned their backs against their fellow pupils, still blushing. Suddenly, a whisper reached Jian Yi's ears, "What the fuck were you doing!?!" Zheng Xi quietly yelled with slight irritation in his eyes.
"You were asleep, a-and you started to fall.." He said back even quieter, avoiding eye contact. A lump quickly grew in his throat, leaving his mind speechless. The bell rang for lunch to be over, and class had began again.

It went by slowly, putting Jian Yi in a bored state. Even though he knew he was supposed to be reading, he quietly pulled out his phone and went to his messages.
'Xi, let's hang out after school'
'Don't text me in class you idiot!!'
'So is that a no?'
'No, you can come over, but only if you-'
His phone was quickly swept off his desk before he could finish reading. The teacher quietly took it off his desk and put it in the drawer, everyone else kept reading. He sighed in relief that the teacher didn't make a big deal out of it, but still a bit pissed that he got his phone taken.
And he'd have to wait until the end of the day.

As it grew closer to 5, Jian Yi's anxiety and excitement was through the roof. His leg was bouncing uncontrollably, and he couldn't keep his eyes off of the clock. Once the final bell rang, Jian Yi hurried quickly to his previous class to pick up his phone. He opened it to read the rest of the text before finding Zheng Xi.
'No, you can come over, but only if you help me with my homework'
It was simple as that, nothing much, nothing less. Jian Yi began to fill with an overwhelming sadness. Maybe he expected more, he wasn't sure. An arm wrapped itself around his shoulders. A tall, intimidating, black haired boy towered over Jian Yi, but he wasn't scared.
"Hello, He Tian.." He said in a low voice, keeping his guard up.
Jian Yi wasn't exactly friends with him, but not exactly enemies either.
"Jian Yi~, are you doing something after school?" He Tian replied beginning to walk along his "friends" side.
"Yes, what is it you want?" Jian Yi said quickly, trying not to piss off his fellow classmate.
"Oh, I was just asking. Well, if your busy, I won't bother you much longer" He Tian said quietly, Jian Yi unable to determine his feelings. The boys arm swayed off of him as he went right to go meet Zheng Xi. He stood by the doors, looking onto the falling leaves that come down from the trees. Jian Yi lit up, and began to run to his friend.
"ZHANG ZHENG XI!" He yelled running into Xi, making both of them fall. Their bodies collided, making a loud noise that echoed through the trees.

Once Jian Yi broke out of his post-collapse, he had realized that he was resting on top of his friend lap who was also coming out of the daze.
"Damn it Jian Yi... you have to warn me ne-" as they both sat up, their gaze met each others eyes. Jian Yi felt a small click run through his body as his pulse heightened and his muscles tighten, all air was cut off from him. There they were again, in a situation where they didn't know what to do. Jian Yi had suddenly been reminded of his previous experience, denial. Zheng Xi's face had begun turning bright red, he seemed ashamed, maybe even angry. He quickly looked away.
"S-Sorr-ry..." Jian Yi managed to choke out as he some how moved himself off of Xi, who stood up quickly before anyone saw. A hand reached down to help Jian Yi up, as it has always been.
"Are you hurt?" Zheng Xi said pulling him up.
Jian Yi shook his head, avoiding eye contact.
Xi breathed out of his nose a bit more harsh than normal, his arm then gently wrapped around Jian Yi's shoulders, "Well, then I guess we should start heading our way then, right?" His hand squeezed Jian Yi's shoulder, but he couldn't hold back a grin.
"Right.." He replied, looking at Zheng Xi who was subtly smiling back. They both began to walk, intertwined as they talked and laughed with each other. Jian Yi had began to think that maybe that mistake wasn't so bad after all.
