Prologue

The door swings wide open banging into the wall with all of it's force. Two drunk, loudly laughing people stumble in through the doorway. They hear their echoing laughter ring throughout the house and start to shush each other, though there is no one to be quiet for. They realizes this after a moment and begin laughing harder than before.

As they make their way through the hall and towards the stairs, their drunken inhibitions take over. Groping and sloppily kissing, they don't mind the disgusted figure standing in the doorway.

"Gross guys, can't you at least make it upstairs before your things," the figure in the doorway asks before walking around them, into the kitchen and turning on the light that illuminates the couple. "Sarah, come on. Though I know what it's like to be hot and heavy, it's scarring when you see your sister do it, even if he's your husband,"

The girl, Sarah, doesn't say anything to her little sister. She just takes her husbands hand and leads him up the stairs. Even though they are out of sight, noise permeates it's way through the hall and harasses her ears. Disgusted, the girl walks out the back door and onto the porch facing the Pacific Ocean. Immediately she regrets the decision because the sounds aren't blocked by windows.

Taking off in a hurry, she walks along the surf, shoes dangling in her hands. 'I might as well take an afternoon walk before work,' she thinks to herself. From there, the noises can't reach her over the waves, blocking out the images that they bring.

A cold breeze washes over and settles all around her. Houses on the beach start to turn dark one by one; shades close, doors shut, lights turn out. The ocean waves wash in and bring in the feeling of uneasiness.

Suddenly all is quiet, suddenly the girl wishes that she never left the house; even if it meant having to put up with the weird sounds that she should never hear from her sister. Suddenly, she was scared.

A noise, barely loud enough to hear above the crashing waves, reverberates through the dark night. It makes her still in her spot, afraid of what might be lurking in the shadows.

"Hello?" She asks out loud before turning around and to see nothing at all. "It's getting cold, I should go back and get ready for work," she says to herself, trying to talk some reason and sanity back into herself. Walking in the water, she hurries back to the grand home, still emitting horrific sounds. A squeal erupts from the two making her cringe where she stands. "I never, ever want to hear the sound come from my sister ever again,"

Grabbing an apple she walks up the stairs yelling, "Sarah, Seamus, you better have your door closed. I'm coming up and do not want to see anything."  At the top of the stairs she takes a bite of the apple and sees a flickering light come from her sisters bedroom. As she walks to the slightly open door, her footsteps echo through the deathly quiet house.

With a hard knock on the door and a "Be decent I'm coming in," she opens the door and drops the apple to the ground. Sarah, naked except for a sheet covering her lower half, has a gash through her neck and a perpendicular cut from her neck to her navel, eyes wide open with terror.

She turns around to run to the phone but is blocked by a figure. A scream starts to erupt in her throat but is quickly cut off with a slit. She falls to the ground, with fear forever frozen in her eyes.
