I was lying in the soft hospital bed. It felt wrong to be in such comfort when my mum was restlessly running here and there waiting for the report.
The doctor finally came out the lab and I saw her looking right at me, I realised what that meant. I saw the helplessness in her eyes. I was going to die.I had cancer I knew I would die, I wasn't scared of that. I always believed that life didn't need to be long it needed to be big but my life was not big or long.
I lay there for a few minutes taking in the information I had just got before I called Sam, we were childhood friends, nobody understood me like her and vice-verse. We were best friend s from childhood, people knew us for our incredible friendship, what would happen to the once I was gone?
I knew once I died I would miss Sam more than anything, if that was possible.
"Hey!" She said, she sounded so enthusiastic what would her reaction be when I tell her that I'm gonna.. I'm gonna die.
"Are you there Beth?"
"Yeh I'm here!"
"Are you ok you don't sound too good, do you want me to come over?"
"I wanted to tell you something and I'd rather say it to you in person, so come over when your free?"
"I'm always free for you, I'll be over in 10mins."
And with that she hung up.
