February 25th, 4343,

The only immune left. Or really the only one at all. Why do I have to be the one different person? Why does Cali have to be different? Why does the world have to be different? But honestly, why should I care? I have no one left. No one needs me. I'm all I have. All alone. Wow, this is starting to sound like my social life at school. Well, when I had school. Maybe everything was bound to happen though. Maybe nothing could have stopped the disease or even slowed it down. How will I ever know? Will I ever even get answers?

"Why would they be dead? It's not like they can get the disease." I asked confused.

"They hunted them. Like cheetahs chasing gazelles. They had no chance. They hunted, killed them, and then tried to find a cure after they died. They knew immunes would never let them run tests while they were still alive. Now you're the only one left. At least They think you are. They need you alive. But be careful, if They can't get you alive, They'll kill you. I brought you here because I thought we would be safe for a few days. You hit the ground pretty hard. Had to hide you somewhere." Cali paused and drew in a deep breath as if preparing to tell me I was dying. "They will be here soon. You have to run while you can. Forget about me. I'll be fine. They can't take me down if They tried. Please." She gave me puppy dog eyes. "I'll miss you. Never forget who I am or who you are. Goodbye. Now run and don't even think about turning back."

"I'm going to say bye. I will see you again." Don't forget me either...

I ran before I saw the tears in her eyes or she saw the ones already falling down my face. I had no idea where to run. I assumed a huge forest would be good. They're like mazes. Thankfully, the abandoned house is surrounded by woods. It'll be hard to find me.

I don't think I had run that far when I heard Cali scream.

"ALICE, RUN!"

I wanted to turn back, but remembering what she said, I kept going. I ran faster than I've ever ran before. I finally collapsed near a tree, gasping for some much needed air. I don't think I can run anymore.
