Hazel
Another week passed and I was more nervous than before. The ceremony would take place in just under an hour and I was pacing back and forth in the bathroom while Miranda was outside the door pleading with me to come out. I couldn't do this! How can I possibly do this!
Calm down, woman! We're going to be queen soon and you need to be calm and collected. Lexi said trying to soothe me.
I took a calming breath nodding. She was right I needed to calm down. I knew this day was coming. I knew that I'd be queen since birth. I opened the bathroom door and Miranda looked relieved. "Thank goddess. Come we have to get you dressed and your hair did. Oh, we can't forget your make up!" She rushed.
Just in time, I stood in front of the mirror looking at my white dress, my hair was styled with gentle waves. I looked at the makeup and smiled, Miranda had outdone herself. I turned to Miranda and hugged her, she seemed surprised for a moment then hugged me back. "Thank you."
"Your very welcome dear. Your mother would be proud." Miranda said gently.
I smiled sadly and nodded. "Come I'm sure your mate is waiting for us." I was ushered out of the room and as I descended the stairs my breath hitched as I seen Malachy standing at the bottom dressed in a black suit, with a light blue silk tie, his dark hair was slicked back, he was mouth watering. I nearly froze when he turned and looked at me, his eyes raked down my body, and then back to my face slowly as I reached the bottom. His gray eyes darkened with desire and I felt my stomach flutter.
He walked over to me, taking my hand. "You are absolutely beautiful." He whispered in my ear before kissing my cheek. I felt the nearly rise to my cheeks.
"Thank you. You look handsome yourself, you clean up nice." I smiled shyly. "Are you ready for this?"
Malachy looked down at me as we both walked towards the stage, everyone staring and whispering. "I'm ready for anything as long as you're by my side. I love you, Hazel."
I took a shaky breath, "I love you too Malachy."
We walked up onto the large stage and my father beckoned us to him. When we stood beside him he turned to the crowd. "Tonight," he boomed, "we are here to announce your new King, and Queen. We shall pledge our loyalty to our rulers, our leaders. This day, we welcome in the new and support them through their reign." He paused and looked at us. "Hazel, my daughter, I hereby crown you Queen of the werewolves." He said putting a small silver tiara on top of my head.
He turned to Malachy who stood tall, and I couldn't have been more proud. "Malachy, mate of our Queen, I hereby crown you King of the werewolves." He placed a silver crown on his head and I felt Lexi wagging her tail in proudness.
My father grabbed both our arms, turning us toward the crowded room. "Your King and Queen!!" He shouted.
The room immediately went up into a roar of applause and hooting. I scanned the crowd and finally spotted Sage. I smiled and waved at him and he returned it along with a wink, before turning and disappearing out the door. I felt my heart pinch at not being able to say a proper goodbye, but I knew it wouldn't be the last time I saw my best friend.
I stood happily, I finally had the mate I always wanted, and even after what we've been through I knew we would only get stronger over the years.
I looked at Malachy, it wasn't but a second later that he turned and smiled at me softly as he mouthed 'I love you' I didn't hesitate to run into his arms not caring if everyone saw us as I grabbed the back of his neck and crash my lips against his.
The crowd only seemed to get louder but all I could pay attention to was the lips of my mate, my king!
