Two dark silhouettes took cautious steps toward each other. One muttered something in a foreign language I could nearly hear. the other replied and they both relaxed their bodies; moved their hands from their belts and sighed. One nodded toward the horizon and they both walked in the direction of a large forest. I was struggling to keep up.

As the men walked the tallest seemed unsure of his safety and kept looking back. Eventually, the shorter of the two addressed him in an angry tone and the taller ceased to look back but still looked restless.

The wind was screaming tragically and I could not hear anything but its howling. the tallest broke the howling with shouts in the foreign language until the other man yelled " if you're going to use your magyik please do it in the common tongue!" I heard his voice properly for the first time. It was deep, rasping and reminded me of a growl. "why can't I speak in the tongue of my fathers?" The taller said in a rich copper voice. I stepped on a twig. 'Crack'. the shorter one whispered something and everything fell silent. I stood still hardly daring to breath.

The stars ahead where disappearing. Cold sweat ran down my neck. my hairs where all on end. how could I survive against two maigi? I noticed I had stopped breathing all together and took a breath. The men turned away. I was safe. "NOW!!" shouted the shorter. I ran for my life. the forest was ablaze with fyre. I dodged and dashed. The forest was suddenly silent. I had got away! breathlessly I stopped. BANG. I had been shot! I was clinging on to life with every fibre in my body. Then darkness consumed by whole being, pulling me into an endless void. I could hear nothing more except the slowing beats of my heart which slowly grew to a stop.

Weirdly I had never thought about how I would die but I never thought it would be like this.
