The plane landed and I had a new bounce to my step. Knowing that Alex'Fang' Rajaram was coming soon, soothed my nerves.
I knew that Fang had to fake his death to be avle to get away to find me. I knew it would take some time. But i suddenly felt that i had the patience of an old monk.
My tears had dried as I remembered all my memories of Fang.
Fang and I met when we were 13 years old. I was sitting on a bench-in the other world-reading my favorite series 'Tigers Curse' when i felt a warmth sit besides me that wasn't there before. I ignored it at first, thinking it was only a stranger needing to sit down. I continued reading my book. I sat there for an hour not realizing I was reading aloud.
"Wow, that's quite a love triangle your reading there."said the warmth besides me.
The sudden voice startled me into dropping my book. The book closed, sudden anger swelled inside me. I turned to look at what startled me into dropping my book.
"Really?! Look what you made me do!"I shouted as I bent over to pick up my book.
Hey there! No need to give me the look of death," he said.
I took a deep breath "I'm sorry. I'm really attached to reading. So whenever someone takes my book or loses my place I get mad."
He laughed, " I can see that my names Alex but everyone calls me Fang."
"I'm Scarlit nice to meet you." I said.
"Like wise. What are you reading?" Fang asked.
"Oh 'tigers curse' the best love, action, sorrow, happiness filled series I've ever read." I look at the book lovingly.
Slowly he reached out a hand to touch the book. "Can I like hold it?"he asked almost scared.
I laughed and handed him the book.
He read the epilogue and his eyebrows rose to his hair line. "Hey-" he said turning to me "- maybe you could read it to me sometime?" he handed me my book, but not before sticking something into it first.
I smiled "yea sure."
"Can we start now?" he asked and I laughed.
"Yeah, why not?"
I flipped to the front page and started reading to him. Our friendship took off from there. As you can see, it's progressed a lot since then.
At school, he protected me from so many things. He was always by my side. He was my best friend. He could always make me smile, always there to wipe my tears.
When he first said "I love you." it was the worst and best moment of my life.
Best: our first I love you. Our first kiss.
Worst: my father knew I existed.
The new car my mom bought me pulled up in front of the most elaborate, most elegant house I've ever seen. The front porch had giant white columns, a giant porch swing, A huge bay window peeped out from behind a giant column, the yard was covered in green, giant trees framed the front and backyard.
The front yard was framed with tiger lilies and red tulips. At the edge of the porch was giant square hedges covered in blue roses, atop the roof of the porch was a garden filled with exotic flowers from India.
The inside was even better. The mudroom had built in shelves for our stuff and benches underneath with baskets under the benches. An elaborate rug lined the floor leading down a long hallway. Towards the left was a modern kitchen.
The whole area was stainless steel. The sink was connected to the butchers block that doesn't move.
The microwave sits elevated above the stove and oven. To the left of the butchers block was a bar island leading to an open concept dining room.
The table is a Dark wood long table with matching chairs a ceiling to floor window leading to the backyard where a swing set sat surrounded by big beautiful trees and flowers.
I was in awe and I haven't even seen the rest of the house.
"What do you think honey?" my mom asked me. I ran to her in the living room which was already fully equipped with furniture.
"It's amazing! And I haven't even seen my room upstairs!" I told her. She laughed.
I looked around the house in awe. I decided to leave my room for last.
For awhile my mom and me were out shopping for clothes, food, bathroom utilities, well everything that wasn't included in the fully furnished house.
It was around 9 pm when we came home that night. I have super hearing, it's better than any humans or dogs. With my super hearing I was able to pick up the tiniest sound of something moving inside.
I raised my hand to stop my mom.
"Wha-?" I raised a finger to her lips and told her to be quiet.
I forced my mom into the car and told her to lock it until I get back.
Slowly I made my way to the front door. With the slowest and quietest precision I opened the door.
My heart was racing and beads of sweat started to form across my forehead and neck.
As I made my way to the living room, I heard a soft whimper. I froze. I felt as if my breath was on a microphone echoing through the house. Around the back of the couch i heard a collection of low whimpers. Then a high pitched whine.
Then I knew what was in out new house.
Then i knew what it was that i heard from the car.
I walked towards the back of the couch and sue enough was a little puppy Siberian husky.
I let out a sort of laugh and let a small smile creep onto my face. But my smile quickly disappeared when i saw the condition the little guy was in.
I dropped on my hands and knees and stripped off my jacket. Slowly I covered the puppy in my jacket.
The puppy let out a whine and a collection of whimpers. "Shh, shh, shh it's ok. It's ok. I'm going to help you, I'm not going to hurt you. I promise." I consoled the puppy.
Once the puppy was safely in my jacket and in my arms I broke into a dead run.
"Mom!! Open the door! Start the car!" I shouted to my mom. In a panic my mom swung open the car door and started the car.
"What's wrong?!" my mom asked me.
"Puppy...dying...need vet...now." I said through pants.
"Oh my god child! You scared me! Alright lets go then."
I was pacing in the lobby of the veterinarian's office. I had only seen the puppy almost an hour ago and I've already formed a bond to it.
My motherly instincts have kicked in and I was worried and pacing the lobby like it was my child and it was in surgery.
Which it kinda was like that. After 20 minutes a nurse walked in.
Ms. Darnell? Your puppy is out of surgery. Would you like to see him?" she asked.
I ran to the nurse and nodded my head.
She laughed "I'll take that as a yes."
She led my mom and me through a series of corridors and hallways. Finally she led us into a small exam room and told us to wait a few minutes and left.
"If I have to wait any longer I'm going to explode." I told my mom.
My mom laughed. "So-" she asked me "- what are you going to name it?"
"What?" I spun around to see her.
"What are you going to name the puppy? It's obvious that you want him and you already love him. So what's his name?" I paused to think...
"Well he did look like a wolf when I found him. So I'll name him Wolf." I said with a smile.
"Good-." my mom said "- now you got a friend."
By the time the doctor came back into the room i was ready to blow something up.
Which is quite possible.
Ms. Darnell?" he said. He was holding a small bundle in his arms. The small bundle let out a small whimper and i broke out laughing with joy.
I ran to the doctor and grabbed my little Wolf. "Is he going to be alright?" I asked.
The doctor laughed and said "yes he'll be fine. As long as you let him get plenty of rest and food." he smiled.
I let out a sigh relief. I undid the blanket so I could see my new puppy. He let out and adorable yawn.
"Hello baby, your mine now. Your name is Wolf." I told him in a soft comforting voice. Wolf let out a small yip. I smiled.
"You like that huh? Do you like the name Wolf?" Wolf yipped again.
My mom and the doctor were talking in low voices. "What?!" my mom asked surprised.
I flipped around "whats going on?" I asked. The doctor sighed. "The dog is not of normal breeds. His brain scan showed that, he has a bigger IQ, than the smartest vet in this building. And he's only a puppy. Imagine what his IQ will be in a year or two? Also his bone structure is stronger than a full grown husky. The puupy has strong leg muscles and a powerful bite." he said.
"What are you trying to say here?" I asked
"What I'm trying to say is that your dog has the brain of a human and the leg and jaw power of a shark." he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry but your dog is a mutant."
