When aspen finds her grandpa and his group during the zombie apocalypse things get a little awkward with a boy her age rated R for violence and language
Rule #9 no where is safe. Only safer. I've been telling myself that for months. Especially now that I'm with the group. They've made everything 10 times more difficult. I think I'm save. I think I can let my guard down. But I know that I can't. The second I do that I know it will be the end of me. I almost miss when it was just me. I could do anything I wanted. I didn't have to worry about people I cared about dying. Wait... Do I care about these people? I mean they saved me from Tobias, it's probably just my Gratitude talking. Ya that must be it.
I found someone's old bedroom. It looks to be a teenage girls room. Pretty nice setup, black metal bed frame with black sheets. Lots of black furniture and a crap load of books. There were posters of bands I've heard of but never really listened to. I saw one of black veil brides. My my Neighbor used to blast knives and pens not stop. I used to hate it but I almost miss it now. I don't even want to imagine what happened to whoever's room this was. There weren't any z's when we cleared the place so the family was probably out or still hiding somewhere. Maybe they survived. I would like to think so but she seemed good. The good people don't survive anymore. This isn't a book this it real life. Things like that that just don't happen. I need to get back to reality and start looking for new clothes or I'm going to be the one of the next generation of z's.
I just opened the closest when there there was a knock on the door. Oh joy.
"Aspen? It's garnet can I come in?"
Oh Great the leader. Like I said leaders don't like me. In other words, I'm probably getting kicked out of the group for something.
Instead of answering I just opened the door and went back to the closest pulling out clothes I thought would look good. All the clothes this person had are completely impractical for the apocalypse. I.E dresses, skirts , lose fitting clothes.
"Listen, I know that you can handle yourself out there. But I still have to ask. Are you ok with going to look for food by yourself? You don't have to but We can't really spare a lot of people right now with addy and Cassandra being injured and-"
"I've been on for three years now Charlie. Give or take for passing through groups but you get the point. I think I can handle a food run." I interrupt him. "Just let me get some better clothes and be right down."
Instead of answering, like I thought he would, he just nodded swiftly and left the room.
Taking a second look at the closest I see that there's what looks like a simple grey t-shirt. After closer inspection I see that it's actually a faded grateful dead shirt. I take the shirt and a pair of high waisted jean shorts. Not ideal but it will do. I grab a a pair of two size to big green doc martins and a Mitch matched pair of socks, one light blue ankle sock and one rolled down red knee sock. After putting on the clothes and shoes I grab a jean jacket I didn't see before from the floor of the closet. "Heart breaker" is written on the back. How ironic. Usually it's the other way around. But I'll get to that. I shrug on the jacket and go to the door.

From the second I open the door I can hear people yelling. I'm honestly surprised I didn't hear it in that room. Pretty thick walls. I guess that must have been a good thing for the girl that lived here. You know how teenagers are.
"She's not going alone garnet. That's final." I hear grandpa say when I get to the kitchen.
Charlie walks over to the cupboard and opens it. Revealing it to be empty.
" look at that doc. It's empty. Some one needs to get food and she had to contribute to the group. It's a win win. "
" why does it have to be her tha-"
"I'll go with her!" 10k yells from across the room. Man these guys are going to Atracked all the z's in the state.
"It's not like I have anything better to do and if it would doc feel better I'll go with her" 10k said while trying to get grandpa to calm down.
"I don't need you to come with me. I can do it on my own you'll just slow me down. " I snap back secretly hoping he disagrees and comes anyway.
"He's going with you. That's final. Now stop the yelling were going to alert all the z's around. Now Mack you tae addy down to the basement see if you can get the water or power on. Doc you and Murphy keep a eye on cass. We don't need her getting worse come and get get me if she wakes up. Me and warren will take first watch. Hopefully when the kids are back we can shower and have hot food. If we hurry we can get this done by midnight. "
After that everyone but me and ten thousand scurry of to do there garnet anointed jobs. Time for a awkward run with 10k... Fun.

Now don't get me wrong I like Cassandra as much as the next guy but in order for me to make this story work im going to gave to make her kinda bitchy to aspen. Ok now if anyone actually likes this story please vote/comment. When you guys don't I feel line no one likes this story. Anyway I should have the next update soon ✨
