--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I arrived at the astronomy tower, walking into the classroom; Draco sitting at a desk near the front. I walked up to him and sat down, opening my book.

"What are we going over today?" I asked, looking up at him. He was staring at my necklace: the gold chain I'd received for Christmas. "What?" I said, touching the chain.

"Nothing." he quickly looked away, flipping through the pages of the book. I furrowed my brows, looking down at the book.

I woke up and couldn't help but smile. It was finally my birthday! I sat up and spotted something on my bed stand. It was a single rose, red and perfect in every way.

"Who's that from?" Delia asked, intrigued.

"I have no idea." I said, picking up the flower. I smelled it, taking in its sweet perfume which put a smile on my face.

I walked up to the astronomy tower, opening the door to the classroom we always met in. Draco was sitting at the desk he always sat at, but this time he had a worried look on his face.

I sat down next to him, studying his face carefully. He looked pale. Paler than usual and his eyes didn't have the sparkle of life they usually held.

"What's wrong?" I asked simply.

"We can't meet anymore." he answered. My heart sank which took me by surprise. I was getting used to our tutoring sessions and wasn't sure I could pass without him.

"Why?"

"We just can't." he said standing up.

"Draco-" but he cut me off.

"I'm serious. It's better if we don't see each other anymore." I shook my head and stood up.

"Is this your decision or someone else's?" he stayed silent. "That's what I thought. You know, if you let others rule your life for you, you're not really living." I left, hurrying back to the common room.

School ended with me barely passing potions and Draco and I still not speaking. Delia and I promised to write to each other every chance we got. Ron and I agreed to continue writing over summer even though he was visiting Romania.

"I'll see you later!" I hugged Delia. She smiled then walked over to her parents. I turned to leave, walking into someone.

"Sorry." I mumbled.

"You need to watch where you're walking." Draco smirked down at me. Why do I keep running into this boy? Literally!

"Maybe you shouldn't be such a stalker." I retorted, stepping past him. He stayed silent as I continued to walk away.

Summer was relaxing. My parents wanted to know everything about school. They were so impressed with everything, constantly telling me how proud they were.

Delia and I wrote every week. Her telling me all about news in the wizarding world and me telling her about things in the Muggle world. It was amazing how many things she'd never heard of.

Ron and I even wrote, although his letters were less frequent. Every time I saw his scribbly writing on a letter, my heart couldn't help but flutter a little. He told me about how Romania was and the dragons his brother worked with. I'd never even known about dragons until I met Ron. Then again, I'd never known about magic until I got that letter.
