Chapter 3

Maka's POV

"Soul" I said and he looked over to me. "What is it Maka?" he asked and I looked at him. "Do you think Stein and (y/n) like each other or are alike?" I asked and he thought for a moment. "Well they both do like to dissect things...and (y/n) is his student and Stein well....he can't feel emotion... why?" he asked and I shrugged. "They seemed like something clicked between them." I said and he waved it off. "You just want Stein to have a girlfriend." he said and I hit him with a book. "I do not, it was just a thought." I said and he held his head. "Now come on we have school tomorrow." I said and we went to bed.

Your POV

I sat at my desk in my room trying to do Stein's homework he assigned. I sat there and listened to the sounds of Death City. That was until I heard someone scream. I ran to the window and looked outside. There was a kishin above a girl. I jumped out making my arm go into a scythe blade. I ran over and jumped cutting it in half. I turned my arm back to normal and my parents came out. "(y/n) we told you not to do that!" my mother yelled. "But Mom what else was I supposed to do?" I asked and walked over with the egg in my hand.

"You're not supposed to do that...leave that to the people who graduated from the DWMA." My father said . I rolled my eyes and looked at him eating the egg. "I was the closest one to the girl and Kishin...you should be proud that I did it and didn't hesitate let alone saved her life!" I yelled and ran down the street. I ran around the rooftops for a little bit.

I found a dimly lit part of Death City and walked over to it. I sat under a dead tree and sighed putting my head into my hands. I grabbed a stick and started to draw in the dirt. "It's a little late don't you think?" I heard a voice. I looked up and saw Dr. Stein. "Hey Professor." I said and he walked over and sat down. "Why are you out here so late?" he asked and I sighed. "I stopped a girl from being eaten by a kishin and my parents yelled at me for it." I said and looked at the dirt and erased the drawing.

"Why did they do that?" he asked and I looked at him for a second. "Don't you think I should ask the questions... I am the student after all." I said and he chuckled. "Yes I guess you're right." he said and stood. "Come on I'm sure they're worried I'll walk you home." he said and held out a hand.

I accepted it and he helped me stand. I sighed and walked to my house. I had my hands in my pockets and was looking at the moon. "(y/n)..." I heard Stein say. I looked over to him and saw him looking at the ground. "Yes?" I asked and he looked at me. "Why are your middle name Luna?" he asked and I sighed looking at the ground. "Well if you must know. When I was born my Mother had told me that I was very sick and it was a full moon. She told me that she put me under the light of the moon and I smiled and got better. " I said and he smiled.

"It suits you." he said and I smiled slightly and turned a bit red. I looked away from him and he chuckled. "I saw that blush." he said and I pushed him over. He chuckled and we walked to my house. I opened the door and my parents ran at me. "Thank Lord Death you're alright." My Mother said. I sighed and the door pushed open. My dad saw Stein and smiled. "Professor Stein.. Thank you." he said and he gave a nod. "No problem just next time when she kills a Kishin tell her good job and not scold her. Not many students have the courage to do that." he said and walked down the road.

I looked after him and ran out of the door. I ran up behind him and hugged him. He stopped and looked down and under his arm. He saw me and smiled turning around. "Thank you" I said and he looked at me. "For what?" he asked and I let go looking at the ground. "You didn't need to do that." I said and he put a hand under my chin. He brought my eyes to his yellow green ones and smiled. "It isn't a problem... (y/n) and besides...you have the right to be thanked you saved a life after all."
