-When you are missing someone, time seems to move slower, and when you're falling in love with someone, time seems to be moving faster-
Taylor Swift
Violetta Castillo had everything a 15 year old girl could ask for. Family, friends who seemed to car...
Mrs Vargas's POV No. This can not be happening! Violetta Castillo stared at me nervously, unsure of what I'd say. I knew that she was living in Buenos Aires but I never knew which part. My husband and I had lost touch with German ages ago and we never tried to regain it. I looked at her blankly, trying my best not to covey what I was thinking. She's already hurt my son once, she's not going to do it again. Suddenly, Leon came out the house and ran up to Violetta. "You forgot this" he said, handing over her coat. Finally, realizing that I'm here, he was about to introduce me to her when I have him a look that told him that I could introduce myself.
Violetta's POV "Hello. I'm Leon's mother, and you are?" Mrs Vargas asked politely and expressionless "Violetta. I go to school with Leon" I replied, playing along. Her eyes widened when I mentioned that we go to the same school. She obviously thought that I had just heard that Leon was nearby and had gone to see him. Daniella Vargas looked at her son with a questioning look. After he signaled that he'd tell her why I was here later, she turned to me again but said nothing. We looked at each other awkwardly, not knowing what to say next. Leon watched us, puzzled. My phone beeped, breaking the silence. Looking down at it, I saw a message from dad. Dad: I had to go out for a little while with Ramallo and Olga isn't home. We'll be back in a while
I groaned inwardly as I realized that I've forgotten my keys and that now, I can't exactly go home. To make matters worse, it had started to rain. Looking over my shoulder, Leon saw the text. "You can come inside and stay with us for a little while if you've got nowhere else to go" He said "Oh..I don't want to trouble you" I replied "It's fine! Right mom?" Leon asked I glanced at Daniella, waiting for her reaction. She nodded but didn't say anything and walked past us quickly. --------------- Gently blowing on the piping hot tea in front of me, I looked around the room. In the middle there was a huge mahogany table (😊😊😊) which I was sitting at. Ruby red curtains covered beautiful stained glass windows and there were photos plastered all over the walls in intricate frames. Walking up to the wall, I looked at each photo. There was one of Leon laughing, icing smeared across his cheeks. I remember that day. It was his birthday and all his friends had helped to set up a surprise party for him. There was another one of him with his guitar, smiling at someone in the distance. That someone happened to be me. It was the day of our first show that we performed in together. He was smiling at me as I was joking around, trying to calm his nerves. There was one more photo that caught me eye. Leon was just standing in the park while grinning at the camera and squinting because of the bright sunlight.

I've seen this picture before but it's different now. The last time I saw it, I was in the picture with him, his arm wrapped around my waist. His parents have obviously cropped it. I can't really blame them. Leon and his mother entered the room as I looked at the other photos, mugs in their hands. "Thank you again for letting me stay here while it's raining." I said for like the 10th time this afternoon. Leon laughed and shook his head. "You've got to stop saying that" he said and sat down beside me at the table. His mother sat opposite me, still not saying much. " I've been meaning to ask you...how did you know where I live?" Leon asked Oh no... "Well..um.." I started but was interrupted by a phone ringing loudly. Leon looked down at his mobile and his eyes lit up. "It's Gery" He said happily "I'll quickly answer and come back" He left the room and I saw Daniella smiling from the corner of me eye. She seemed to approve of their relationship. Daniella was always like a second mother to me. Actually, since my mum passed away when I was very young, she's the closest thing I've ever had to a mother. Other than Olga of course. So although I'm sad about Leon forgetting me, I'm also devastated by the fact that his mother no longer trusts me. We sat in silence. "Why did you do it?" She asked after a few moments. Slightly taken aback by the fact that she actually talked to me, I couldn't understand what she was saying. "Excuse me?" I asked "Why did you do it? Why did you just leave Leon like that?" She asked again What am I supposed to say? "Oh, I was being a selfish person and decided that if he was going to be hurt I'd rather not be there to see it?"
I decided to go with a truth which, to be honest, was a bit like that. " l couldn't bear to see him hurt. I know it was selfish but I didn't know what else to do. I guess a part of me even thought that he would be angry with me and then he'd find it easier to forget about me and to move on" I said, suddenly stopping when I realized that I probably should have used different words. "Well, you got what you wanted. He definitely forgot about you" She replied coldly I could feel tears starting to well up in my eyes "Daniella...I mean Mrs Vargas" I started, not knowing whether she would still like me to call her by her name. "I'm sorry about what happened to Leon. There's not a day that goes by where I don't regret what I did. I know I was being stupid but I can't change that now. I honestly did love Leon" I said gently. She got up from the table and made her way back to the kitchen. She stopped after taking a couple of steps and turned to face me. "Leon told me what happened in school today. Next time, have a better excuse ready" she said and carried on walking, leaving me alone in the room.
