The Mysterious Town

"Chase?!"
"So, I believe you owe me ten loaves of bread, five bottles of lime juice, a back pack and now, sixty dollars." Tessa glared at chase with cold eyes. Chase continued ignoring Tessa's look. "So, do you know when you're going to pay me back or...do I have to charge interest?"
"Here you go Madame" the barista said handing Tessa the bag of food.
"Thank you," Tessa said to the barista with a cheesy grin and turned to Chase. "Let's take this outside." Tessa took the bag of food and went to the Starbucks patio. "What are you doing here?"
"Like I said, you owe me ten loaves of bread-" Tessa stared daggers at Chase. "Okay fine, I'll leave you alone if you just tell me that I'm cute. I'll dwell on that."
"Look, how did you even find me?"
"I found my girlfriends dog."
"How do you even know your-girlfriend?!" Tessa was shocked and disappointed.
"Jealous much?" Tessa rolled her eyes.
"I don't have your girlfriends dog, I only have-come here Amber, come on!" Amber came running to Tessa and jumped on Chases lap.
"Hey, Simone! Hey girl, miss mommy?!" Amber, now Simone, was licking Chases face.
"Okay, you should take her to-uh-your-uh-girlfriends house."
Chase and Tessa walked to Chases girlfriends house, right across the park. Tessa learned that the girlfriends name was Candice. They arrived at her house and rang the doorbell. Candice opened it moaning.
"Oh!" She perked up immediately. "Chase oh hey! Uh-what's up?"
"Just found Simone in the cafe, thought you wanted to have her." Chase handed Simone to Candice and Simone started to bark loudly.
"Oh Simone, shhhh." She looked very serious, her comment very forced.
"Uh, babe?" They heard a voice coming from inside the house, a male.
"Candice, who is that?" Chase asked concerned.
"Uh the, pizza guy?" Candice said looking back. Then a hunky black haired guy came out and took Candice by the hips.
"I'm not the pizza guy, I'm her boyfriend." Chase looked so shocked. "Babe, you couldn't have forgotten that I'm your boyfriend." With that he kissed Candice on the lips for a long time. Chase started crying.
"Sorry, we gotta breakup." Candice said between kisses. Chase slammed the door and ran away from her house.
"I can't believe I, liked her!" Chase exclaimed.
"Look now is probably the worst time to bring this up but, I gotta go-find my dad."
"No, I'm going with you." Chase said rubbing the tears from his face.
"No you wouldn't understand. You can't!"
"You don't think I'd understand losing your dad and mom to whoever these people are," he started crying even more. Tessa sat down beside him. "I came home one afternoon and found my sister crying on the couch holding a piece of paper. I rushed to her side and read the note. It said that my parents left to keep us safe. I was ten when that happened. Then six years later, I came home to an empty house, I saw a note from my sister, she also said that it was to keep me safe. I lost my whole family to whoever these people are. I want revenge-for everyone who was affected by them, I want to help."
"I'm so sorry, Chase. I didn't know this happened to you...look, if we find them together..." Tessa considered letting Chase come with her "...there's no backing out of it. There's no stopping. Got it?"
"I wouldn't back out for $1 000 000 000" Chase said laughing.
"I probably would." Chase playfully hit Tessa's arm.
"Okay, I probably would too. Now let's do this," Chase held up his hand. "Together."
"Together." Tessa said holding Chases hand.
They smiled and enjoyed the moment. One of the last they would have together.
