A Chance Of Reuniting

Sigh. Another day in this company..

I should be happy with this since I get well paid here..

But it's just sometimes annoying..

Cause everything's a cycle here..

Sit.

Type.

Talk.

Argue.

Break.

Then sit again.

It's not so tiring..

But when you do it everyday, it gets really bor-

I got distracted from my thoughts by a familiar voice.

"Hey, Lapis." 

It was Miss Silver.

"Yeah?" I said as I pretend to be busy working.

"Could you do me a favor?" She said.

Well that's new..

"Uh, Sure. What is it?" I said as I stopped working and faced her.

She looked away a bit nervous but looked at me again.

"Is it okay if you become the assistant manager for a week? There's been a problem in my province and I am urgently needed there.." She said.

Assistant manager? eh, sure. It's just or a week anyways.

"Sure. But do I still have to do all my work here?" I said.

"No, all you have to do is organize schedules and meetings and stuff." She said.

Well that's easy.

"Sure." I said.

"Really?" She said excitingly.

"Yeah." I said with a smile.

She pounced at me and hugged me.

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" She said.

She released from the hug and told me everything I needed to know.

She led me to her office and told me that I'd be staying there while she's gone.

She brought all her stuff and thanked me again before leaving.

I sat on the provided chair and noticed a sticky note placed on her desk.

A To-Do-List? Well atleast I don't have to guess what I'm supposed to do..

There are tons of things to do on that list.

Write a quick essay about the upcoming report.

Print out a schedule.

Organize meetings for several business proposals.

And many more..

But there's one thing that caught my attention.

Be ready for any commands from Peridot.

Wait. Right! Silver's the assistant of Peridot..

Well atleast I have a chance to get to talk to her...

Then I heard something ring..

It was the landline..

I didn't get to answer it on time so a voice mail played.

"Silver? If you're there, Please come immediately." Some familiar voice said.

Wait. Was that Peridot?

I immediately went to her office.

What I saw there was total chaos.

Papers were everywhere, the scent of coffee in the room, the blinders weren't in sync with the others, and finally, a stressed Peridot working on her desk.

I slowly walked in front of her desk and made her sense my appearance.

She made a quick glance at me and went back to her work, but then stopped and looked at me with a surprised face.

I stayed quiet.

Her face soon changed into a straight one and fixed herself.

She cleared her throat.

"May I ask why you are here?" She said.

"U-uhm, M-ms. Silver had an em-mergency so she entrusted me with her p-position.." I stuttered.

Damn it. Why am I stuttering?

She looked at me confused but then looked away.

"How long?" She asked.

"H-how long?" I asked confused.

"How long are you gonna be my assistant?" She said.

"O-one week.." I said.

She nodded.

"Alright. Well I needed some assistance with these meetings. Can you handle it?" She said.

I nodded.

"Y-yes." I said.

She handed me over a flashdrive and motioned me to leave.

Why the heck was I nervous?

Well.. I better start working.

But that might kill my plot xD
