Edward was panicked. When he'd turned the news of at 9pm that evening the virus was only supposed to have infected the southern region of Japan, but there was no denying what he'd seen. His younger brother had been perfectly stable when he went to bed and 4 hours later he had was a homicidal maniac. He also had no idea what to do with bodies of his younger brother and father. For the time being he left them were they were. He couldn't bear to look at them and was desperately trying to keep the  thought of his younger brother dead against the wall out of his mind. Right now he had to focus. "They're both dead and its all my fault", he thought miserably, " I didn't protect the and now they're dead!" "SHUT UP!", he told himself, "There was nothing you could have done." How had the virus spread so fast!? Then it hit him. The quarantine of Nagasaki must have been broken. The whole country would be infected by now!

His brother had been dead only five hours but the disease would  start seeping from his body in another 10 or 20 minutes. Whether he liked or not, Edward would have to leave the apartment. He quickly opened the closet pulling out his gas mask. His father had bought weapons and gas masks for all three of them, but they hadn't expected it to come so quickly. Edward grabbed the ammo bag as well as his fathers rifle. He then ran quickly down the stairs taking them 2 at a time and opened the door.

What unfolded before him was a scene of utter chaos. The apartment complex opposite his was burning; muffled screams and cries for help came barely audibly to his gas mask-covered ears. Three corpses lay strewn in front of him riddled with bullet holes. A fourth lay with a  massive hunting knife lodged in the back of his neck protruding through his eye socket. "That might be useful", he thought and  reached for the handle. It wouldn't budge. He took the rifle from his back and swung it down viscously upon the dead man's ahead with a sickening crunch. The reached down and pulled the knife free. "He had to get out of Tokyo, but it wasn't going to be easy", he thought as he wiped the blood from the hunting knife, "The crazy ones are smart and dangerous." He was as ready as he'd ever be. Clutching the rifle tightly, he stuck the hunting knife through his belt loop and took a step out into the street.
