*Nathaniel's POV
As I slowly started regaining consciousness, everything that happened came back to me. I started to freak out and tried to look around the room to see where they had taken me, but the room was pitch black. I tried to move, but as I already expected I was tied down to the chair I was sitting on. 'This is such a cliché, a rich kid that gets kidnapped. If you're gonna commit a crime, at least do something original.' I thought to myself, trying to use humor to distract myself from the fear that was rushing through me.
I sat in that room for what felt like two hours, I had no way to tell how much time actually passed, until someone finally walked in. I couldn't see who it was yet since it was still very dark in this room, but as he turned the lights on I was shocked to see a familiar face. That dark, nearly black, sleek hair and those intimidating emerald green eyes I could never forget. It was Ezra. He's a student in my school but he has done his year over a couple of times. I'm guessing he should be about 19 by now. Ezra's notorious in school, no one really knows anything about him but somehow everyone's intrigued by him.
I thought finally seeing my kidnapper would make me even more frightened, but weirdly enough seeing Ezra made me ease up a bit. I was expecting some scruffy-looking old man, but Ezra is far from that. Ezra seemed so... normal. He was wearing a basic white t-shirt and blue jeans, which showed off his fully tattooed arms. I've always thought tattoos were kind of tacky, but I did have to admit, they looked almost elegant on Ezra's arms. Maybe it's because he genuinely looks like he could be a model. While I have never been into boys, I had no problem admitting that I always thought Ezra was very attractive when I passed him in the school hallways. Despite of his mysterious reputation and his 'bad-boy' looks, he never expected Ezra to be a kidnapper.
As I was eyeing Ezra down, another man walked into the room.He went over to Ezra and said something that caught me off guard. "What are you doing here son?" There Is no way that's his dad. He couldn't possible be older than 35, but they did resemble each other quite a lot. They both had dark hair, even though ezra's hair was slightly lighter. They also both had the same green eyes. Ezra answered his dad but I couldn't hear what he was saying. His dad nodded and came over to me. I'm guessing crime pays well because he was wearing a very expensive suit. "Welcome to my basement kid, do you know why you're here?" he asked me while intensely looking into my eyes. "Well I'm guessing you're just another fucked up person that's after my family's money." I said cockily not realising the seriousness of the situation."I'd be polite if I were you. After all, you are in my hands now. To be quite honest, you were the easiest target ever. I would've expected someone of your status to have at least one bodyguard?" He said smirking. "Well I can take care of myself." I replied once again with too much pride." Well it sure does not look like you can." He said slowly leaving the room. "Wait!!" I yelled at him but he already walked out the door.
I sighed thinking about the fact that I'd probably have to wait a long time for him to return and that's when I noticed Ezra was still in the room just staring at me with a blank look on his face. "What are you looking at you creep?" I yelled at him."Just looking at how you're trying to be tough, but we both know it's just an act." Ezra said looking down at his hands. "You don't know anything about me." I yelled at him, but he didn't seem fazed."You know what, you grew up in a golden nest and you have never had to worry about anything. I can't even imagine being you right now and realising that your family name can't save you in every situation. I know you're terrified right now, so I suggest dropping the act." It almost felt like I was being lectured. "Whatever, I'd rather not take advice from my kidnapper. So tell me, is it the money that you're after or something else?" I asked, hoping to get some answers."Well that's for me to know and for you to question." He answered while smiling and leaving the room. Right before he left, he yelled "If I were you I'd better prepare myself for tomorrow!!" before closing the door and leaving me alone in the darkness once again.
I never thought I would ever be able to fall asleep while in this situation, but this entire traumatic experience depleted all of my energy. Before I knew it, I dozed off.
