"do you know what's the worst part about this?"

"all i can do is wait. wait for him to get tired of me, wait for him to leave, wait for him to realise i was never going to be what he wished i would be."

she laughs a little, but it's choked. she's holding back tears.

"and i just know i'm going to break all over again when he does. i keep telling myself i won't, that i'm stronger this time but that's bullshit. i'm going to lose it but i'm afraid it's too late to get out now."

he stares at her, at a loss for words but his eyes - they hold pity and she knows he secretly agrees. 

"you'll be okay." he lies.
