Lapis Pov
"Ugggh..." I got out of bed an tried to make it to the bathroom without my mother greeting me. But that's impossible. It was so peaceful when she couldn't care less whether or not I was ok, but now that she's found out that I'm diagnosed with depression, she works her ass off just to make sure nothing's wrong. It's annoying and it's not making me feel any better, it surprisingly makes be feel even worse. Why doesn't she get that I just want to be alone?

As soon as I turned the nob to my door I heard pounding footsteps getting louder each time they pummelled the floor.

"Good Morning!" My mom yelled as if we were in cheerleading.

I just glared at her signalling that I wasn't in the mood. Her smile then became crooked and she let me pass, I heard her going down the stairs and I started to take a shower. I switched on the shower head and freezing cold water poured out of it like the raging Niagara Falls. I couldn't care less if it was cold. It was comforting, and the only thing that gave me peace, a sense of hope that not everything in the damn world is bad. I just let it trickle down my body an soak me to the bone before I grab my shampoo. I rubbed some into my ocean blue hair and then rinsed it out.

Once I was out I put on a light blue tank top and a dark blue jumper, with grey skinny jeans. I grabbed my black backpack, slid my white high tops on and I went down to the kitchen where I found breakfast at the table. It was sunny side up eggs with bacon.

"Are you hungry? If yo-" I cut her off with
another death glare and walked out the front door.

I headed towards the bus stop with my headphones on while listening to my playlist of unorganised songs.

I don't talk to my mom much anymore because off her new eagerness to try to keep me happy but she never succeeds. My thoughts were then interrupted by the bus screeching to a halt I got on and found an empty space where not many people were located. I took the seat nearest to the window and just zoned out. The bus started to move again and as time passed I drifted off to sleep until someone woke me. The bus had stopped and there was a blonde with a triangle shaped haircut and specks on. She wore a light green top with a little alien in the middle and dark blue jeans.

"Umm... Is this seat taken?" She asked quite shakily.

I stared and waited for her to take the hint and leave but she just stood there looking confused, normally people who asked would leave straight after the stare. She didn't. I just looked away from her and I felt her sit down. I was surprised at first but I quickly brushed it off and just thought that she would go soon enough. But she didn't and after a few moments she spoke

"I don't believe we've been introduced yet, I'm Peridot Diamond and you are?"

I glared at her but she didn't stop.

"Do you have a name?" She asked again.

"Lapis, Lapis Lazuli." I trailed off near the end.

"Well it's nice to meet you Ms Lazuli." She said as a grin appeared on her face.

'What the heck?! Doesn't she get that I don't want to talk to her or maybe she really is thick.' I thought and eventually continued to look out the window. The whole ride was unbearable, Peridot wouldn't shut up, soon when we finally arrived at the school gates I rushed off the bus and away from that nerd.

But as soon as I entered the doors of Gem High I instantly regretted my choice, it was fully packed with students roaming the halls freely. I didn't bother to ask for directions, having experienced several other schools I've came to the conclusion that I will never fit in. So asking for directions will just be a waste of my time. I struggle to find my way at first but then I finally found my class 10B. Luckily I was able to get there before the bell rang. I took a deep breath and walked in. I looked around in utter horror once my eyes spotted the try-hard-nerd waving like a maniac and shouting my name. I didn't look at her, I just pretend to not hear the booming voice she was using to communicate with me. I quickly rushed to the seat at the back corner nearest to the windows. I didn't want to be associated with that nerd.

Shortly after I spotted a buff looking tanned girl with long white hair, a pair of orange converse, ripped shorts and a white top with Cheetos in the center. She walked over to Peridot an started yelling but I couldn't care less on what was going on. My main focus was getting through the day without being noticed and finally get to my room. But before any of those things started I had to introduce myself to the class.

'It's gonna be a long day'

After the first half of the day was over I rushed out the class to find a place where I could be alone. It was lunch and I wasn't hungry so I passed the cafeteria but just as I reached a set of stairs leading up to the the roof a group of people huddled around me and the cheeto girl from before came from the shadows.

"Hey new girl, you got anything for me?" She had a deep raspy voice and a big sneer laid across her face.

I stood there confused at what was going on. Then it hit me. Literally. A swift blow to my head from behind made me collapse to my knees. "I have a name." I mumbled under my breath but she still managed to hear me.

"What d'ya say? C'mon, ANSWER ME!"
I lifted my eyes off the ground and a large hand cupped my cheeks, lifting my entire body off the floor. I flailed my arms and legs at the buff girl's arm but nothing was affecting her. The girl's golden eyes narrowed as she brought me up to here face.

I gave in and finally stopped resisting, As soon as I did she squeezed my cheeks and spoke,
"You're quite cute. If ya got nothing to hand over, why don't ya just be mine?" She stated in a mocking tone.

I let my bangs cover my eyes, tightly gripped on her arm and screamed at the top of my lungs, "MY NAME IS LAPIS LAZULI AND I BELONG TO NO ONE!"

I grabbed her muscular arm and bit down on it, causing my captor the release me. Which also made her group turn to her with concern, giving me an opportunity to escape. I ran straight up to the roof. And I was so close till the bell rang and ended the bit of hope of me making it. Knowing my mother she would be pestering me all night as soon as I got home if she knew I didn't go to class, so I had no other choice but to go back down and be in a class with a bully and a nerd.

*sigh*
