"Olivia you know if I could I would stay. But I have to go this time. I am only going to California to see the area. You know that I go there every year." Says Lilly
"I know, I just hate it when you have to go on these long trips because then I have no one to talk to." Olivia said sadly
"Well the good part is that it is only for a week. You can last a week without me, right?" Asks Lilly. Olivia just nods her head yes. Lilly puts her bags into her car and walks over to Olivia and gives her a big hug, and says, "Don't worry it is only a week. You just have to wait ONE week, I WILL come back for you."
Olivia feels so much better when Lilly says that to her. But she still feels like something is wrong this time, she just doesn't know what it is, did she forget to give something to Lilly, or is something going to happen to Lilly that makes it so she CAN'T come back. Olivia doesn't know she just knows that she will miss her friend.
Olivia looks up and she sees Lilly waving to her from the car saying bye. Olivia waves back at her wishing she could go with or have Lilly stay here with her.
Olivia starts to walk home as Haley from school runs over to her and asks, "Why do you look so sad Olivia?"
"Lilly just left for her vacation and she is going to be gone for a whole week." Says Olivia
"Oh, well if you need a friend while she is gone, I will be here for you, okay?" Says Haley
"Okay" Olivia says a little happier. After Haley says bye to Olivia she runs back into her house and leaves Olivia to walk half a mile to get to her house alone.
