Best Buds

The Accident

     It is almost 11:30 and Lilly still can't sleep. "Gosh, Why can't I sleep?" She says to herself quietly, so she doesn't wake her dad up. "I NEVER have this much issues sleeping." Then she starts to feel a shaking and she starts to panic a little and runs over to her dad and wakes him up.  Her dad gets up and runs under the table with Lilly in his arms. Then they hear screaming in the hallway of the hotel, and the hotel manager screaming "Get under the tables!" And then they hear it a loud smashing sound like a building is caving in.  She can tell that it is a building that is near, but not her building.  At this point is when she realises that this is an Earthquake.  

     A couple seconds go by and they stop feeling the shaking.  But then after a while they start to feel it again, It's and after shock.  Her dad grabs her and runs back under the table, and tells her "It is going to be okay."  When she hears her dad's voice it calms her a little bit but she is still scared.  Then she starts to hear another smashing sound and it sounds like it is above her.  She starts to talk to her dad but, he is just a worried as her.  The smashing sounds continues and it gets closer and closer.  And then it gets to their room.  It was a big cement statue that the manager had put on the roof for more class.  The manager never thought that it would end up killing some of the renters of the hotel.  But while Lilly and her father are trying to get out from under the statue they hear some more smashing and Lilly thinks to herself "No! Not again!" But this time it was a fan that was falling, and it was still spinning like it was on.  And she knew that this time she wouldn't make it through it.

     After the earthquake the survivors leave the building, but Lilly didn't leave.  After an hour goes by and the rescue team gets everyone out Lilly's dad goes to her and see something bad.  And at that moment he knows that he would be going home alone.
