Kimberly’s P.O.V

“So this is why I couldn’t stay over last night, you two were busy playing dress up.”, Jeremy says amusedly. I don’t know why, but standing next to Jeremy I feel sort of overdressed. Jeremy is wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, a white Rolling Stones muscle shirt with a grey hoodie and his favorite pair of black converse. Actually his outfit is pretty normal for school. I don’t even know when Jeremy got so tall, I mean I am pretty tall for a girl, I am a solid 5 feet 8 inches and Jeremy looks like he has a good 5 to 6 inches on me. Since when could Jeremy grow a beard, looking at him he has a little stubble around his chin and a little on his lower cheek area. I guess it looks good on him, makes him look more mature. “Kim, you still there the bell rang like a minute ago?” Jeremy says nudging my shoulder a little bit.

“Ah yeah, I had my mind on other things.” I say trying not to sound surprised. I look over at Helena, and she’s giving me that signature knowing smirk. She knows I’m guilty, she saw me.

“Yeah I don’t want to be late so I’mma talk to you guys at lunch okay.”,Jeremy smiles embracing both Helena and I  in a warm hug to start the day. It’s kind of like a ritual, every day , the three of us start of the school day with a hug. Before I can respond, Jeremy is already down the hall heading to his first period class.

“You were so staring back there.” Helena chuckles.

“No I wasn’t, why would you say that” I deny, knowing she already caught me in the act. Helena and I begin walking to our AP English class, for a second I thought she would have dropped the topic and let it go, but unfortunately she didn’t.

“Kimz, you totally were, you were like undressing him with your eyes.” Helena snickered. I couldn’t help but chuckle too thinking back on when Jeremy didn’t want me to see him change that night of the party. “Oh My Goodness, you’re so blushing you were thinking about him shirtless running on the beach weren’t you?” Helena questioned knowingly.

“No I wasn’t, I swear you’re so perverted sometimes, let’s just get to English before Ms. Joseph has a fit.” I say firmly hoping she drops the topic, and luckily for me she does.

When we do make it to English, everyone is already sitting and Miss Joseph is just heading up the board. When Miss Joseph finally acknowledges our presence I wish she didn’t. I literally feel everyone’s eyes on me.

“Helena, who’s the hottie?” I hear one of the guys in my class holler, and after he does that a number of whistles and wolf howls erupt in the class. I can’t believe they don’t recognize me. I guess that explains why no one made any rude comments when I came in to school today.

“Guys, control your hormones, ladies have a seat.” Ms. Joseph half shouts, and as instructed Helena and I take our seats.

I was in the middle of writing my expository essay, when a random piece of crumpled paper landed on my table. I assumed it was someone sending me some kind of rude message, so I let it slide to the floor. As I was about to write my conclusion, another crumpled piece of paper landed on my desk, and being a little frustrated I opened it roughly, only to see a neatly hand written letter on it.

           ~~~~ I see you ignored my first note I don’t blame you
                   Just wanted to tell you, you look cute writing your essay.
               Like the new look. Call me sometime 323-544-3201:) ~~Tyler
I looked up to see if this letter was some kind of joke, and when I looked in Tyler’s direction, sure enough Tyler was looking at me with a small smile on his face. I mean Tyler is a good looking guy; he’s tall with tan skin, dark hair and ocean blue eyes. He’s not a jock, but he sure has the body of one, I think he’s in a dance group or something like that. He hasn’t spoken a word to me since freshman year. I hadn’t even realized we were staring at each other, until he winked at me. Instantly, I feel heat in my cheeks and quickly return to writing my essay.
