Matthew sat up and looked at the curtains. He had forgotten the time and his hearing became fuzzy. The white noises in his room were blocked out by the sounds of voices. Voices that told him to give up. Voices that told him to die. He could hear his parent's voices and his childhood self screaming in agony. All these noises finally became to much and he snapped back to reality, when he heard a knock on the door. Matthew got up and walked toward the door. He paused for a moment then put his hand on the knob.
When Matthew opened the door he say a man with black hair wearing a gray vest and dress pants. Above this was a black trench coat. He held a brief case and looked at Matthew concerned.
"You look awful.", the man pointed out with a fearful look.
"What is it, Decker?" Matthew said in a slightly irritated voice.
The man at Matthew's voice was Edmond Decker a close friend to Matt. He works with him on the cases around the city which are now being called: Fallen. Edmond held the case outward and gestured for Matthew to take it.
"What is this?" Matthew asked skeptically, looking at the case.
"It's a lead on a new "Fallen" hybrid." Edmond looked at Matthew seriously.
Matthew took the case and put it on a table next to a bloody knife and a photo of Matthew with a lady. The face was scratched out and the lower part of the body was in blood. There was a caption at the body judging by the one revealed "L" but, a sloppy splatter of blood blocked the caption. He opened the case and saw a file folder with the word "Burner" on the front.
Matthew turned and looked at Edmond "Who is this?"
Edmond just stood and looked at him. Matthew opened the file and saw the name Joseph Ash and began to read the file. The file categorized him as a type 5, the highest threat level when it comes to Fallen, and looked at Edmond again.
"How long did you know about this?" Matthew asked concerned.
"Long enough." Edmond replied sternly.
Matthew continued to read and then took the photo from the top left corner of the file. Ash had bronze eyes and light brown hair that nearly reached blonde. Matthew could feel his emotionless stare through the photo. He knew the feeling all to well.
"So what are we gonna do about this Decker?", Matthew asked in a voice close to a mumble.
"We're going to kill him." Edmond said seriously.
Matthew went into the bathroom for about for a few minutes and came back wearing black jeans and a black tee. Matthew grabbed his leather jacket and the case with the file and he and Edmond, left out as Matthew closed the door behind him...
