Kael appeared to be dead. That how it seemed at least. Somehow, despite his dark skin tone, he turned pale. It was him and a women. Lying on the floor of the creaky old ship. It was her and him lying on the floor.

A little girl with red pigtails came over to him. She was crying. Her dress was limp from the water. As was her hair. Kael beckoned her over.

She looked about five years old, maybe older, but not by that much. "Little girl. Little girl, are you okay? Are you looking for your mommy?"

She nodded and wiped tears from her eyes. Kael looked down and thought maybe this woman was her mother. "Is this your mommy?"

She nodded. "That's my mommy."

"Well. Come with me I'm gonna get you and your mommy to a safe place." He reached out his hand to see if she would take it, she did.

He picked the woman up and carried her with one arm, the little girl holding on to his other one. They were right in front of the door. It was made of the same thing as the floor underneath the people's feet. Wood.

The little girl opened the door. It let out an ear-splitting creak. The woman in his grasp moved slightly. Kael looked down at the girl and watched her walk in. He walked in after her.

Down the stairs the two of them went. He followed the cinnamon hair of the little girl in the darkness of the night. Kael felt stiff, from the impact of the ocean. The salty water was finally settling in. The woman was still asleep, her daughter worried sick about her.

Suddenly the captain barged through the door. "Is everyone okay is anyone hurt?" He asked. He looked over to Kael and saw the woman lying next to him. He immediately rushed over and took her hand. "Nora." He said in a sad tone. "No not my Nora!" He was acting like she was dead so kael tapped his shoulder and told him that she was still alive and that he was overreacting.

Could this get any worse? Kael tbought. He notices a strand of his natural hair and slicked it back to go with the rest. His natural hair was wavy at the top and straight at the bottom, the combination mixed to make him look weird even amongst his people.

He sat up straight and looked over toward Louey who had a look on his face of almost compete irritation. The raven headed man beckoned him over and he came. "What is wrong?" Kael asked.

Louey didn't answer. He got up calmly and walked out of the room. Kael knew where he was going. The deck. He didn't follow him though. Instead he was more focused on the girl he saved earlier. He looked around for the little girl, where was she? That's not good.

Kael pulled out his jade pendant with emeralds lacing a yin yang sign. He closed his eyes as he wrapped his hands around the part of his necklace and murmured indecipherable words.

He opened his eyes.  They were glowing a jade color as be walked like a zombie to a part of the wall. He bent down and grasped a little hole in the wall with his finger. He opened a door. The little girl was in there. She was crying. His eyes went back to their normal shade and he let out a soothing voice. "Sweetheart, why do you shed tears? Your mother will be fine. She'd strong she will be okay."

Little did he know she had stage four cancer. She could die at any point in time. She could be dead right now. But he prayed that she wasn't going to die.

Xella was sitting in a room with a girl she'd met. She said her boyfriend was Lukas Martin. She remembered that name from somewhere. She thought a bit. "Was his middle name Louis by any chance?" Xella asked.

"Yes. How'd you know that?" Mari

"I met him in middle school. We were really good friends." She said.

Xella wasn't really in the mood for talking about her life. "Mari tell me about yourself."

"Oh, Um. There's honestly nothing to tell. As a kid I was in an out of schools because of the constant moving. My mom died when I was 16 because of a tumor. My dad died of cancer when I was 20 and I was the last to know.

"After a while I met Lukas at a tennis match in Jersey. I dropped my bracelet and after three days he found my house and brought it back. It was the only thing I had left of my mother except her cello. My father had a grand piano.

"When he asked me out I said yes. Three years later and now he's my husband." Mari said.

"Aww. That's so cute. Well we'll be on this ship for a while I guess we should make the most of it." Xella said. At that moment she left and Mari followed after her. They ended up in her room. It had two beds but she was all alone in there. "Mari welcome to the spot. Come anytime." She placed something around her neck. A key.

"I think I'll be right back."

In a moment she was back with two suitcases packed with clothes and a cello case. "Could you take my cello, please.  Xella took the cello off her hands as Mari tossed her suitcases on the floor.

"Do you want to use the treasure chest as well? Because I perfectly fine with that," Xella said staring out the window, searching

"What are you looking for?"

"Mermaids. They're very good hiders. They'll come out during the second storm."
