Chapter 8

I stared down at my little brother who was now stable. Colby lifts a chair from the corner and places it by the bedside.

"Hey Ashton it's your big sister.", I whisper.

For a moment he stirred but I touched his shoulder so he would relax.

"Stop doing stupid things for girls Ash, you'll know when you find the right one."

Colby's hand laced with mine and I smiled.

"I'll be in the waiting room. They are gonna bring mom in next.", I kiss his forehead and exit the room.

As Colby and I walk back to the waiting room his phone rings.

"I gotta take this. I'll be outside if you need me.

Colby's POV

"Hello?", I ask.

"Colby this is Megan. You're missing appointments.", she says softly.

"Megan you broke up with me."

"I know but I forgive you. Come home to me baby."

"No! Now I've told you to leave me and my fiancé alone!"

I hang up the phone and pace angrily in front of the hospital.

"Something bothering you?", an old man in a wheel chair asks as he reaches me.

"Huh? Oh well yeah. This woman keeps trying to force herself on me.", I say sitting on the bench beside him.

He laughs, "What's wrong with that?"

"I have a fiancé, she's pregnant and I love her very much."

"Well, why don't you get a restraining order."

"I'll have to, awhile back she sliced my tires."

The old man smiled as the nurse came and collected him, "I wish you luck my friend."

"You too sir.", I say waving good-bye.

After awhile Alexis comes out of the hospital and sits on the bench next to me.

"Mom gave me the house key she said that we can stay in my room. My other brother Andre and my little sister Ariel are home, we should probably make them some breakfast."

"Sure you should go to sleep I'll make them food."

"And miss the look on their faces when they meet you no way!"

I call an Uber and once it comes Alexis gives them the address to her parents house and we arrive in a few minutes.

Alexis's POV

"I'm home!", I yell when I step through the door.

My brother and sister come bolting down the stairs and scoop me into a hug.

"We missed you!", Ariel says.

"Yeah you could call once in a while you know.", Andre says.

Colby clears his throat.

"Who's that?", Andre says crossing his arms.

"This is Colby, my fiancé."

"Hm.", Ariel looks at him, "He's cute I approve."

"Hello.", Colby shakes Ariel's hand.

"Yeah, well I don't.", Andre frowns.

"Well you might as well get over it because I'm pregnant."
