Chapter 10

A few weeks later...

Colby's POV

I sit next to Alexis holding Kendall in my arms. She's asleep. He's so tiny and I can't believe I have a son. I adjust his hat on his head and go stand in front of the hospital window.

"Hey son.", I bounce him softly, "Daddy loves you."

"That's cute.", Alexis says from the hospital bed.

"Hey how are you feeling?", I say sitting back in the chair by the bed.

"Could be worse I guess.", she takes Kendal from my arms.

"You hungry? I'll get something if you want."

"No thanks babe I'm fine. I'm just happy he's here. Kendall is perfect."

"Yeah. I'm just ready to get to sleep in our new bed."

"Just sleep?", Alexis laughs.

"Haha sure maybe a few hours. I'm gonna go to the pack house to get some clothes for Kendall my mom is coming up here so if you need someth-"

"Colby I'll be fine go."

"Okay. Love you.", she smiles before I give her a quick kiss.

Kendall is asleep but I still kiss his forehead. While in the elevator I pull the car keys from my pocket. Once almost to the car I unlock the door to our new ford escape. Alexis thought it'd be more safe or something.
I finally get home and run into my room when my mom calls my name.

"Yes?", I peek in the door to her room.

"I thought it was you, I wanted you to go around the perimeter and make sure it's secure."

"Why did something get in?"

"Your sister was outside playing with some of the others and they think they saw someone."

"Okay I'll get Hollis to check it out."

"Bye sweetie.", she walks past me and downstairs.

"Bye.", I say.

I go back to my room and get some of the baby clothes and diapers. Before leaving I take a quick shower and ask Hollis to check the fence.
When I get back to the hospital my mom and Alexis were talking.

Alexis's POV

"He looks just like him.", I say as Colby enters the room carrying the baby bag.

"He looks like you too.", Karen smiles rocking Kendall gently.

"I hope my son looks like me.", Colby sits on the bench along the wall where he'd been sleeping for the past few nights.

"Can I have the bag I wanna dress our son?", I smile.

Colby slides the bag across the floor. I get out of bed and dress Kendall in a blue jumper and a pair of white socks.
The nurse knocks and then enters.

"Oh you're up! Good, and how's the little man?", she smiles at him.

"He's good, say hi Kendall.", I say moving his little legs.

He waves both of his arms and whines.

"The doctor says you can go home so I was just bringing you your discharge papers.", the nurse smiles and hands me the papers before leaving the room.

"That was fast. You have only been here a few days.", Karen picks up Kendall.

"Yeah well I'm ready to go, hospitals creep me out.", I tell her as I sit on the bed.

"I'm gonna run down to the car and get the car seat.", Colby says while still watching the TV.

I roll my eyes and head into the bathroom. My suitcase was already unzipped, I guess Colby didn't close it. The outfit I wore was cute but comfy, a blue tee with white yoga pants. I decided to match my munchkin.

"Alexis.",Karen called from the room.

"Yes?", I say throwing my hair into a bun.

Colby says,"There's someone here who you might want to see."

I sigh and rub my tired eyes, then walk back into the room. There stood my family. I give them all hugs. While I pack we talk.

"He looks like a marshmallow.", my little sister Ariel says poking his cheek.

"You're gonna hurt him!", Ashton pushes her hand away.

After about thirty minutes Colby and I go to our new home.
