"vampires are monsters--
Vampires shouldn't exist--
They should just die!"Every one of these insults, I hear everyday from narcissistic people. They don't faze me, because I'm used to them. I've moved from city to city, since me and my family practically been banished from a lot of cities. The only way I can actually settle down, is if I pretend to be a human, If I pretend to be something I am not.
"Raiden!" My mom shouted, carrying a box to hand to me. I snapped out of my thoughts and helped my mom with the boxes that were packed tightly with our clothes and things.
"So what do you think about our new home? do you think your dad and little sister will enjoy it?" Mother asked as she set the boxes down on our wooden paneled floor.
I sighed deeply and looked at her. "I just don't want people finding out we're vampires. I'm tired of being banished and moving all over the place."
Mother smiles at me warmly. "we won't be banished this time, okay? I promise." She reassures me.
"Fine, but I won't make friends. They are overrated. Obviously, some humans are disgusted by vampires" I say as I wipe the sweat from my forehead. I walk up the stairs and to my room, wondering how i'm going to set everything up. I have minor OCD, which I have to put up with. I open the door to my bedroom and I unpacked everything. All my things have some place to go. I hung up my family portrait up above the light switch beside my door and I put all my clothes away in the dresser my grandparents used to have.
" Raiden! Dad got dinner for us." My sister, Emily informed me from downstairs. I rubbed my face and slowly went out my bedroom door into the hallway. Mother was standing in front of me with a box.
"Oh, Rai, this is your school uniform, school starts on Monday" she cheerfully says as she hands me the box.
I put the box right by my door and proceeded to the dining room where my sister has called me. The table was already inside since I strategically fit it through the door. It wasn't that big of a deal. I sat down and in front of me was food my mother made. It was pig blood in a glass. Vampires have stopped drinking blood from humans and now decided to drink blood from pigs. A vampire caught in the act of drinking human blood, receives many consequences.
I sighed heavily and began eating my food slowly.
"Hey, Rai, why do you seem so sad?" Emily asked me.
"I like it here, I don't want to move anymore. I'm tired of it" I say calmly.
"We won't move. we wont let ourselves get discovered, Tomorrow is Monday and that's when we get to go to our new school and make new friends." Emily says, trying to make me feel a little better. I take a sip from the glass of pig blood.
"I think friends are overrated, they get you in trouble and they back-stab you anyways. Once our 'Friends' figure out we are vampires they will leave us. Just like the ones from Miami." I say. Emily flinches and continues to drink her meal. I get up from the table and I walk to my room, not cleaning up after myself
Emily really thinks that the humans here will like us? She's idiotic. of course not. I raked my hand through my dark brown hair and threw myself to the bed. I closed my eyes and waited until I could actually fall asleep.

"Ugh, you're that kid of a vampire aren't you?" a kid spat in my face. My eyes were wider than a UFO spacecraft. I backed away and tripped over a kids foot.
"What shall we do with you? burn you, and your family. Don't you know how many humans your species has killed? I just want to return the favor and maybe make vampires extinct." A girl said in the background.
I curled up in a ball and sat there, crying. waiting for the inevitable to happen. I was waiting for them to kill me. I wanted them to kill me. I stood up and a kid with a stake popped out of no where and ran towards me.

I woke up sweating and I was shaking roughly. I reached for my cellphone and checked the time. It was one o'clock in the morning. I got up from my bed and walked out my door. When I was in the hallway, I could distinctively hear snoring from my parent's room. I quietly and slowly made my way down the hallway into the bathroom. Trying not to wake up my sister or my parents, I went into the bathroom and closed the door. I turned on the light and Sighed heavily. I then began washing my face. The water was icy cold to the touch, which in my case felt soothing. I grabbed the towel from the rack and dried my face with it. I then studied my face and figure in the mirror. I was a mess. I had bags under my eyes and my hair was all over. I ignored my complexion and exited the bathroom door making sure I shut off the light. I then proceeded to slowly walk down the hallway again til Emily came out of her room. Now she looked worst then me, she had eye boogers and slobber was slowly dripping from her mouth. I couldn't help but laugh at her. Even though she was half asleep, she sure can run towards me really fast.
"Damn it, Raiden! I will --" I covered Emily's mouth quickly before our parents could wake up.
"You're going to wake up mom and dad. How about I pretend I never saw you like this. Does that make you feel better?" I whisper quietly to her.
She licks my hand and I frown in disgust.
"You got to get away this time, but next time I will hurt you." She informs me quietly and collectively.
I smile and I turned around to go to my room. She was smiling too. She never seen me smile in a while and her seeing me smile now warms her heart. I close my door and lay on the bed again, waiting for tomorrow.
