When class ended yesterday, Louis confronted me about the rumors, then left. Okay, maybe he did something else before leaving, but that is not to be talked about. The thing is, when he disappeared, I went back to trying to fix my stuff in my locker, and when I was just about to swing the door to a close, a neon yellow post-it flew out of my locker. Out of curiosity-- definitely not excitement--, I picked up the paper and read the note. It said,
Meet me at the park tomorrow. 8 P.M. -W
When I read the note, a mix of emotions swirled inside of me. First was confusion because, who the hell is crazy enough to ask me to go meet them at a park? Then came anger because, did people honestly think I'd fall for that? The note was probably from Louis when he confronted me. But then again, what if it wasn't from him? And after battling with myself for a while, I soon felt excitement because, what if it was from a guy who genuinely wanted to meet with me?
But then again, why would they want to meet with me? There are like hundreds of girls in our school that are way prettier, kinder, and slimmer than me. So the third emotion immediately vanished, being replaced by the first and second ones.
Before I could even dwell on the note even longer, I decided that I would go home, and deal with it when I was at the comfort of my bed. So I went home, took a bath, did my homework, had dinner, and fell asleep, forgetting about the neon-colored note that I left on my bedside table. But of course when I woke up this morning, it was the first thing my eyes landed on when I opened my eyes. It was quite surprising for me to be awake earlier than usual, so I decided to read the note again.
I wonder who 'W' is. And I wonder what this person wants with me. What if all this time I was thinking that he was a guy when he was actually a girl? Damn, that would we awkward. But the question is, should I meet with this person? Eight P.M. is pretty late, and I don't think my parents and brother would approve. Maybe I should ask the girls what they think first.
When that thought flashed in my mind, I got out of bed and went straight for the bathroom. But not before grabbing my clothes and a clean towel. I finished quickly, and I grabbed my stuff and headed downstairs. I quickly went back up 'cause I forgot the note. Of all the things I can forget, that's something I shouldn't. Then, I went back downstairs.
My mom was still making breakfast, and she was quite startled to see me awake and ready for school.
"Mornin'," I smiled, taking a seat on a stool. "Good morning. You're up early, honey." Mom glanced at me from where she was cooking eggs. "I'm surprised myself," I laughed in return. Footsteps were soon heard from the stairs, then my dad emerged into the kitchen. "Woah, someone's up early.," Dad smiled. He walked over to me, ruffled my hair, and took a seat.
"Good morning to you too," I mumbled. My mom gave dad and I plates and served us our food. Dad ate quickly while I savored my food this time, rather than inhaling it-- Cole's words, not mine. When dad was done, he collected his stuff and bid us a goodbye. He kissed me on the forehead, then kissed mom on the lips which I gagged in response. They both laughed at my reaction, then dad was gone. I barely saw my dad at home. He always leaves the house early because his office was quite far from where we live. He was a businessman, so he was almost always home late, but that didn't stop me from looking up to him because if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have a roof on top of our heads, clothes to wear, or food and water to eat and drink. He was a great man.
